Walked in at 7 am Friday, National Doughnut Day ordered 600 Munchkin's they made them fresh and was out the door within 23 mins. Thank you Friday AM staff for making it happen! All day in the office people were thrilled having the little bite size doughnuts to enjoy. People would come up to me to say thank you and did you try this flavor or this one and I was no and would run to the kitchen to try them. Yummm!!!

I love that Los Angeles finally has a Dunks. I've missed it so much. For some reason though, the Los Angeles Dunkin' Donuts feels very different from the East Coast ones. Some foods taste exactly the same (donuts, munchkins, sandwiches), but other ones just taste...different. They need to transplant some employees/managers from the East Coast to get some consistency going. It's just not the same. The sausage, egg, cheese sandwich on a croissant hasn't changed at all, so I'd definitely order that again. The hash browns at this branch aren't as crunchy, and it tastes like chicken. SERIOUSLY, IT TASTES EXACTLY LIKE CHICKEN. I'm not sure if I like the hash browns here more or less than the dunks at home, I mean...they're both good. Unfortunately the coolattas here are NO BUENO. They ruin it for me. It's way too icy or whatever...there's just SOMETHING WRONG WITH IT. I always end up chewing the ice. I order coffee coolattas back in Boston like it's nobody's business, and so I KNOW. HALF OF THAT SHIZ IS CREAM. The coolattas that I've tried here taste like a healthier knock-off coolatta, which is cool...but ain't nobody ordering a coffee coolatta at Dunkin' Donuts to be healthy. At least I'm not... PLEASE STOP MAKING IT LIKE THAT. Still though, I'm glad LA finally has Dunks again, and I would totally still try to make it out here whenever I'm on the west side.

Sigh... This is not the Dunkin' Donuts I remember as a kid. Is it the doughnut that's evolved or have I graduated onto a more sophisticated donut diet? The dry, cake-like and silly-sugary doughnuts tasted like Flunkin' Donuts ... Dr. Donut says, "D may be for donuts, but F is for fail." * Chocolate Kreme - My favorite as a child is now a tastemare as an adult * Vanilla Kreme - Take a dry mass of carbs and jam it full of diabetes cream * Chocolate-frosted - Com'on how can you mess this one up? They did ... F. * Oreo Kreme - Cool for originality, but the dopamine rush is too much. * Blueberry - Waaaay too sweet ... Blue-meh-rry I'm no Homer, but I am rethinking everything I know about life. Never before has a Donut ... let alone 5 ... ever let me down like Dunkin' Donuts in Santa Monica. F is for Fail and F is for Flunkin' Donuts who didn't even come closing to passing any donut taste tests.

Parking isn't easy but luckily we found a spot quick. The wait to order donuts was about 5 minutes. It's just a regular donut shop. There wasn't much variety. I bought a dozen. I had 3 and they taste like they have been sitting out for a while. Maybe because they have the donuts in open display, were the air/ germs/ flys can land on the donuts at anytime. Maybe getting a donuts case should be something they should invest in getting.

Totally mixed here. So excited to have DD out in CA but expand the franchise to Los Feliz/Silverlake pronto! Ok now for the review, it's pretty good. Nothing special and they need to brew fresh pots more during the day, I have gotten a few stale ones but will always come back when I'm in Santa Monica.

They're donuts, people. Pillowy, sweet creations with Boston cream inside. (cue Homer Simpson drool) ===================== Yes, I'll admit it. I drove half an hour for donuts. This fatso remembers how awesome this chain was during his days on the East Coast. How their coolattas would keep him chill during the dog days of summer with 100% humidity. How their steaming cup of large black hazelnut coffee would keep him warm during those bitter winters where the cold seeps through the earmuffs. Anyway, this place is a Hollywood-ized version of the East Coast shops. Brand-new flat screen TV menus, cool lounge chairs with cushions. But do they still live true to their namesake from Beantown? Yes, they do. We got the half dozen (including Boston Cream, maple cream, Bavarian cream) as well as a large black hazelnut coffee. Well, at least, that's what I ordered. They were frantically trying to fill the orders and poured a regular black coffee for me. The Boston cream was THE BOMB. This was an excellent pillowy soft donut, with a not-too-sweet chocolate coating, filled with their signature custard. My better half liked the maple cream - crunchy, sweet maple glaze on the surface of the donut sealed the deal. Too bad this is so freaking far away, otherwise I would make DD runs for the office (ahem).

I've heard lots of random strangers talking about how great the Dunkin' Donuts coffee is, but that didn't get me to stop in here. What DID get me to stop in here, was passing by here this weekend, and a cool girl I know saw me walking by and came out to say hi, and raved about how good the coffee is. Okay, fine, guess it's time to finally try the coffee, if someone I know with good taste likes it. (I'm a bit of a coffee snob after having the best in Costa Rica, and I try to stick with organic food and drinks as much as possible). I had a caramel latte with almond milk, and it was totally delicious- I'd say probably better than Starbucks, and definitely cheaper. Was a really nice surprise that they have almond milk, and I also thought it was nice and clean inside. I will definitely keep Dunkin' Donuts in mind next time I'm craving a coffee. Unfortunately/ fortunately, no vegan donuts, I had to ask :) Also- interesting people-watching!

It has been a really long time since I have had a DD donut! Last week someone brought in Krispy Kreme and I held strong. I knew it wouldn't be worth the calories. Then today someone brought in a dozen DD donuts and I took the chance that it would be as good as I remember from my trips to NY. I had a strawberry glazed donut...and let me tell you. It was worth the extra gym time I will be doing tonight! YUMMY

This location is smaller than most. They have some inside and outdoor seating and Internet to be able to use while there. The staff is friendly but short. Parking is on the street and a challenge sometimes. All meters that are often checked by the police.

I love dunkin donuts coffee it's the best but only in NY for some reason this place isn't the same as the NY coffee. The donuts are so good I love the powered donut with Bavarian cream inside it goes so well with their coffee

Pretty darn good service for a Dunkin Donuts!! Back east, the service could be hit or miss, but this location is on point. I grew up in New York & New England, so I had been eating donuts from this business since I was a toddler. Back when I was a kid you would go into your local shop and watch the donuts being made, pretty neat, but that stopped about 20 years ago. Hence, I feel that the quality of the donuts has changed, but that's not the fault of this location. Giving 4 stars instead of 5 because of these donuts. Since I became an adult, DD became more about the delicious coffee for me and the occasional bagel. I might have the occasional donut once or twice a month, but I don't love them. I spent the past year in Silicon Valley *shudder* where there are no DD locations!!! :( When we moved to LA I was ECSTATIC to see this store. I have probably been in this location 8 times since July. The staff is very friendly and my order has always been correct or they ask to double check. For all of the complainers, I am guessing you aren't from the east coast. Let me explain something, when it is 5 degrees out back east, you are on your way to work after having scrapped ice from your car, have freezing cold hands/feet and you pull through the DD drive through for a quality coffee with some cream it just makes your morning better! No, DD is not Starbucks and thank god it isn't.

Okay okay, so Dunkin is just one of those chains that I have a soft spot for! And now that it's back on the west coast, my heart did a little dance. I was thrilled to make a trip over to Santa Monica just to have a little cup of coffee and a few blueberry cake munchkins. This location is on a corner and it's a big space! It wasn't too busy on a Monday evening, but the staff was very friendly. So friendly, maybe even border lined flirtatious, that he gave us a massive bag of munchkins. I definitely was happy with the few blueberry cakes ones because it's less guilt since they are so small. Ha, who am I kidding though? Still a donut, small or big. I was absolutely content sipping on my cup and watching the cars roll by. Looking forward to more trips and less donuts.

I understand why LA people rate DD low. They would rather have a $6 bitter "skinny" soy coffee drink and complain about everything, than enjoy coffee made simple and unbelievable donuts. I met the most interesting people from Boston, NY, Jersey, DC, Miami, who love and get the DD experience. That's why the grand opening was truly a GRAND opening...3 weeks of lines down the block. The staff, like most here, is young. Difference: they are really sweet and accommodating! Handling this population...God bless The coffee...DELICIOUS!!! I'm biased. Grew up on this caffeine elixir. Lol Parking...like anywhere else in this city...ridiculous. Even though, I have no problem. Favorite donuts, Apple Spice and glazed Staff shout outs: Lucus, Anthony, Less, Avi, CJ, Delvaugh, Kevin, Damien, Brandon, and Heavenli. Mornings rock!!!

EAST COAST MEETS WEST COAST. This was pretty exciting news because I grew up eating dunkin donuts every weeekend! Came around 10 and there was a line but it wasn't out the door! Took about 20 minutes to order our donuts. It seemed a little hectic and the employees attitude kind of gave the atmosphere kind of a meh vibe... I saw one customer complaining how they only had one register opened and the employee kind of just shrugged his shoulder... Y I K E S. It was finally our turn to order. We order 50 assorted munchkins (blueberry, pumpkin, chocolate glazed, powder w/ custard, and jelly filled), one pink sprinkle donut (for dat Instagram photo), and one small hazelnut iced coffee (just cause everyone was raving about this).... ALL OF THAT FOR ONLY $11.37... Like whut so Flippin cheap. Honestly... Dunkin Donuts aren't the best quality donuts so I don't think I would come and stand in line for it again... Krispy kremes is better IMO but the munchkins are pretty good especially the blueberry one. The sprinkle donut was eh and the coffee was eh too. To experience NorCal to SoCal and East coast to west coast my sister and I brought the dunkin donuts to Philz coffee. It was just great. Overall, Dunkin Donuts tasted better in the East Coast... Sorry T_T

My go-to Dunkin' Donuts. I really like their iced coffee, and if it weren't for the fact that I'm always rushing to work, I'd stop here more often in the mornings. Their Oreo Iced Latte and Chips Ahoy Iced Latte are really good, and much cheaper than my usual Coffee Bean Ice Blendeds. Their breakfast sandwiches are really good too. The donuts are just average and/or above average, depending on what flavor you get, but I've actually had better donuts at the non-chain donut shops. The donuts here are also more expensive than the non-chain shops.

    JUST. LOVE. AT. FIRST. TASTE. I have to admit that I traveled from the Bay Area to Santa Monica because I really, REALLY wanted to try Dunkin' Donuts. My expectations weren't super high, and everything I tried was surprisingly really good in my opinion. I especially liked the iced latte with hazelnut! (definitely recommend trying that!) Currently back in the Bay Area and missing Dunkin' Donuts...and it's only been a couple of hours.. (;

Meh, I don't get what all the fuss is about with Dunkin. I know people from other parts of the country think we're crazy for wanting it here and I thought it was pretty good a while back when I've had it in other states traveling, but it's just not the same now that it's around the corner. I got their "cronut" or the Dunkin equivalent to it and it was mediocre at best. In addition, I got a simple powdered sugar donut and that was also pretty mediocre. On the flip side, the coffee was decent for a cheap shot of caffeine in the morning to get you going. This place obviously has zero ambiance, and being a donut shop, there are homeless people who come in and out to get something cheap to suppress their appetite. If you want to pop in for something quick and a decent cup of coffee for a couple bucks then Dunkin's always a solid choice, but with so many other good mom'n pop places nearby, why bother unless you're in a rush?

I'm from Jersey - so Dunkin gets 5 stars from me regardless. Why? Because it's DUNKIN and I don't have to fly anywhere to get it!!!!

(Snacked 02/20/15 F @ 4:30pm): Many transplants welcomed their West Coast arrival, but my first experience wasn't exactly a slam dunk! It was a beautifully lazy Friday afternoon as a good friend and I aimlessly drove around when we eventually found ourselves at Santa Monica's Dunkin Donuts location. My friend was a fan, but I was a virgin to their allure of primarily breakfast treats and apparent creature comfort enthused by those who grew up with them back on the East Coast. Would they win me over!?: Bavarian Kreme Donut ($0.99) - I was crushed and dismayed by the fact that they didn't serve my pastry favorite apple fritter (or any other fancy donuts for that matter), so by default this was my selection from a slew of standard and pedestrian offerings. This powdered sugar-covered round mound loaded with a creamy filling was simple at best. Honestly, there was nothing special at all about this and served its purpose as pure sustenance and satiated my sweet tooth. yelp.com/user_local_phot… Service - There was only one group of three already seated and no one else in line, so the young "boys" behind the counter eagerly greated us and where ready to take our order similar to car salespeople as they pounced on their next "victim". We placed our order, it was instantly delivered to us, we paid, and we found a place to sit. Easy-peasy. Parking (Free) - Located in a tiny strip mall, they shared a small lot with a handful of other businesses. Otherwise, there was plenty of free parking on all surrounding streets (please be mindful of any posted signs). Atmosphere, décor, ambience - My first impression as I walked in was "Starbucks". Then, my second impression was "Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf". Then, my third impression was "McDonald's". And finally, my fourth impression was "7-11". Ummm...not very original at all. So instead of my usual play-by-play of what to be expected, my stated impressions should paint a sufficient enough picture of how this place was yelp.com/user_local_phot… . Yes, it pained me that all these businesses were so generically tied together in lack of originality (but I guess if the concept worked, so be it). However, I fell in love with this little table footrest, so if anyone knew where I could get this please let me know yelp.com/user_local_phot… . There were no TVs, but Adult-Contemporary music (i.e. Paula Cole, Train) played in the background. Attire - Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. Overall, my first experience with Dunkin' Donuts at its Santa Monica location was a letdown...and mind you it had nothing to do with the particular location, but rather the company's business model as a whole. Needless to say, they didn't have anything to offer me in the way of drinks (not a coffee drinker) or food (no apple fritters and I'd rather get a sandwich elsewhere). I would return in the very near future but only to use a gift card I received...unless someone wanted to buy it from me. I found minimal value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (total bill was around $0.99 before tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice...AMEX! 2.0 STARS

I guess all the bad reviews came from when they first launched last year. I came here yesterday at 8 am, it was clean, all their donuts were stocked, and the staff was really friendly. The facility has parking in the back aside from the street meters. Its located on 12th and Wilshire so a bit away from the beach chaos and still easy to get to. For first time n00bs, get a egg and cheese on a croissant and get the hash browns (garlic). The Coolata's are also really good, Orange is a great "summery" choice.

Time to EAT the Donuts at the first Dunkin' to open in Los Angeles in many years. Same taste as I remember growing up in NYC. Get a Bavarian Cream donut and a large coffee and you'll be talkin' like a New Yawker in no time! (For those who went when it first opened -- good news -- the long lines have died down).

What I got/get: Pumpkin iced coffee Hazelnut iced coffee Sausage egg croissant sandwich meal Pumpkin donut Blueberry munchkins (donut holes) The good news: I honestly gave this place 3 stars for their iced coffees! Get a swirl of flavor because the shot isn't enough (I like my iced coffee pretty sweet, don't judge me). The seasonal pumpkin iced coffee was great and to my surprise, still gave me a kick of caffeine! The other part of my meal I enjoyed were those little hash brown bites that came with my breakfast meal, why were they so good? Who knows, I'm just glad they were crispy. The bad news: The breakfast sandwich was just alright. Nothing you can't get at a local fast food joint. Also, I hate to say it, but this place is just all hype. It's definitely not worth waiting in the lines that I've seen driving by before. Luckily I only wait like 10 minutes on a Saturday morning. The donuts are just okay and what's worse is that as I was leaving the store, we saw the trays of already baked donuts being pulled out of a truck...sooo they're not even fresh whatsoever. There are too many good donut places in socal to let this compare, and I really just think it's because it's so popular on the east coast.

This is not my first choice for donuts (since I live closer to California Donuts) but I still enjoy this place. I've been to this location a few times and I do look forward to going here. I'm not really sure why the west cost makes such a big deal about this chain. Everywhere I've traveled to in the past few years, there's at least 1000 Dunkin Donuts locations (Asia, Europe, of course East Coast). I always end up getting the same strawberry frosted donut. My fav! Hopefully these so cal locations last this time. I would hate to see them close down again!

OK OK OK east coasters. Don't kill me for this... I went to the grand opening on 9/2 early in the morning. I spent 2 hours and 45 minutes in line so I could pick up donuts and coffee for my east coast bosses. I was hot, sweating and exhausted before I got to work. For a grand opening, they did very little to plan things out with TWO registers ringing up customers. THAT IS INSANE. Also, they let people buy no-limit, which is ridiculous and takes forever. I will be back in a few months when the craze dies down so I can order some proper DD food/coffee and then complete a more thorough review. For now, I'm off to Krispy Kreme...

I am a huge fan of this place! The donuts are ALRIGHT and coffee is just WHATEVER (the folgers tasting kind), but there are sooooo many amenities! I alternate between here and Starbucks when I have to work on my laptop. You usually get what you pay for... HOWEVER, I have only spent $2, but I already received $12 in gift cards, 2 free large drinks, and so many coupons for random free food items! Pretty sweet, right??? LOVE: - DD Perks program (use the app), promotions, coupons, and deals up the wazoo - Donuts are cheap! And there are so many many kinds! - Wi-Fi is really fast! (Often faster than Starbucks, depending on the one you go to) - Excellent customer service, super upbeat staff! - Fast service, so many staff, efficient, so you never have to wait - You get a free drink around your birthday with the DD Perks program - Parking available in the back - They have number shaped donuts available for you to order for birthdays!!! - Very upbeat, fun, bright, happy, clean, and contemporary ambiance - Great Top 40 music always playing! - Well kept restrooms considering that there is so much foot traffic DON'T LOVE: - This place is FREEZING, I always bring a blanket and a jacket! - Some sweet drinks are reallllllly sweet, so ask before you blindly order

Five stars for the great service. Very helpful and friendly staff. Guys saw how indecisive I was, recommended me flavors, and even threw in a few free donut holes for me. Very clean. The donuts were alright.

The taste is not the same as back east. but still good enough. The donuts are not super fresh. They're delivered twice a day from their plant. The ice tea tasted funny. I won't ever wait in line for their donuts. But that's not why I deduct 2 stars. 1 star is for the taste and the other star is overall experience.

This is the first time I have ever had Dunkin since I'm born and raised Cali. All my east coast friends rave about it. So I had to see what all the hype was about. Well that's all it was, HYPE. The "dunkinccino" tasted like the vanilla lattes u get from the machine at a gas station. The egg, bacon and cheese bagle was all processed cheap cheese, terrible egg, super thin almost not there bacon. The bagel itself was great, the tomato mozzarella bagel, but everything else was 711 standard. If u like cheap corner market, gas station quality, u will love this place.

I remember there used to be a Dunkin' Donuts in Torrance years ago near Giuliano's and no one made a big deal about it. Then this location opened and everyone got all excited that they opened one in SoCal. Go figure. This location has some parking in a small lot behind the building. Upon entering, there was a line but it wasn't too long and it moved fast enough. Service was pleasant and helpful. I ended up getting a dozen for $9.50 because, of course, it's a better bargain and you can try a variety of flavors. I would say Dunkin' Donuts are basically good, but they aren't extraordinary or real distinctive. They don't have many cake donuts to choose from and I tend to favor cake donuts. I wouldn't rush back here to buy donuts. If I crave Dunkin' Donuts, I would probably pick one up at the airport since most airports seem to have Dunkin' Donuts locations.

Mayhem...simply mayhem over the grand opening weekend of Dunkin Donuts in Santa Monica. Just like a good milkshake, I adore a good donut, but I absolutely love a geeat cup of coffee. After pondering my thoughts, I think it has been been years since I've visited a franchise donut shop in LA. But who cares...as my real visit to Dunkin Donuts was to try the coffee, which Time Magazine says, "....which despite its name generates nearly 60% of its revenues from coffee and beverage sales, not doughnuts." Supposedly, Dunkin Donuts owns the market of selling premium coffee to the working and middle class population. Ha...take that Starbucks! I arrived today at 7:00am only to find a long line that wrapped around the building. It was no surprise to me to find the long line, because Los Angeles has a ton of foodies who go to new restaurants like concert goers who flock to music festivals. In LA, food is a big deal. However, this line on a Sunday morning was not of Foodies, but consisted of families who brought their kids and a good mix of whatever Santa Monica has that day. It took a good one hour of waiting in line and a test of my patience till I got to the cash register to order. The efficiency and ease of ordering was superb and it was super fast to get my Spicy Sausage Breakfast Sandwich too. The donuts were obviously super fresh and as happy, animated, and whimsical looking on the pictures. A half dozen of donuts will drop you almost $6 and a full dozen is $9. Breakfast sandwich combos are between $3.50 to $6 with coffee and a few select combos have awesome tasting hash browns. The good ol' cup of joe is a bargain for everyone. A large cup of regular coffee is still less than $2.50 and any signature hot or iced coffee is less than $3.75. Now the taste test.... For a regular cup of coffee, I say stick to McDonalds. Dunkin Donut coffee does not compare to McDonalds roasted Arabica coffee. I wanted to like Dunkin Donut's coffee and kept coming up with excuses to like it. Unfortunately, the flavor of the regular cup of coffee fell short. There was no robust flavor, no acidity, and zero depth. I am not sure if I was served a fresh, ground batch of brewed coffee, but the flavor of my cup of regular coffee was not what I had expected. As for the donuts and the breakfast sandwiches, Dunkin Donuts are winners! The donuts tasted way better than the donuts from Krispy Kreme across the street. I also loved my Spicy Sausage Breakfast sandwich as it had a nice little spicy kick to it. The Hash Browns were delicious too. Anyway, I can see how Dunkin Donuts revamped the business model and the food. I'm just puzzled that in the coffee wars against McDonalds and Starbucks and the like, a regular coffee at Dunkin Donuts was bland and boring. How could it be a winner?!?!? My next visit will involve drinking a signature coffee drink like a mocha or something. Perhaps Dunkin Donuts won the coffee challenge with the added sugary flavors to the regular cup of coffee. (Scratching my head)...Strange?!?!?

I came here Saturday after going to the Santa Monica beach I was so happy to finally see a Dunkin' Donuts in the West Coast. The story itself is very pretty but small. The workers were nice but there was quite a line. The doughnut was good as always. They have parking in the back. I'm giving it five stars just because I'm so happy that Dunkin' Donuts came to the West Coast! It's about time

I wasn't impressed with this place and expected more given the hype! We went in around 9:30 p.m. on a Saturday night and there was a short line. About half their selection was empty and not available, which was surprising given that they must know they still have a crowd around this time on a weekend. I got the regular glazed donut, some donut holes (they call them "munchkins"), a powdered donut and a blueberry donut. The donuts were not good because they were a little too dense (cake like) and also not fresh. I later read that many Dunkin Donuts don't make their donuts fresh and receive their inventory from off site locations, so maybe that was the reason for the staleness. The donut holes were also not glazed evenly, with some parts unglazed. Oh! and I almost forgot, I ordered 12 donut holes and only received 7 in the bag. I can understand if the guy miscounted by one, but he was way off. And there is no option to get 7. Just strange! Overall, for such a large chain store, the quality of their donuts really fell short of my expectations.

Hit or miss. The donuts taste as they should in terms of flavor, but when you arrive in the morning, the donuts should be fresh... they weren't, at least not the one I got. As for the coolattas, they are gross--pure corn syrup in a cup. Bottom line: Potential that needs some work.

I grew up in the east coast and Dunkin was always a staple of daily existence - so after several years going without I was super excited to revisit this old regular haunt. It's possible my taste has changed, but those place does not live up to the memory.

You have no idea how excited I was when I heard that Dunkin Donuts was coming to Santa Monica. I grew up eating these donuts in upstate NY and associated it with weekend breakfasts with my dad. Well, either my tastebuds have changed or the quality of their products have declined tremendously. Their donuts never seem fresh. I often wonder if they were made in New York and traveled by bus or train to get to Santa Monica. The coffee is decent, but there are other places I prefer. The long lines that appeared for the first couple of weeks after they initially opened have vanished. If you're craving better donuts in the city of Santa Monica, I recommend DKs or if you have extra time go to Primos. Both serve warm donuts that were baked on the premises for sure.

The original re-entry into LA and probably still my favorite as long as I am there by 5 am on a weekend before I schlep down the 405 to LAX. The selection is always ample. The donuts and bagels are ok... they are not exactly as good as back East, but still good enough for me to come back again and again. Coffee is what I am there for at o'dark hundred, and for that they deliver 100%. Speed in service is not exactly as good as back East, but still not a deal breaker. Parking... well, have fun with that!

I am from Rhode Island with a DD on almost every street so I know the company quite well. It just saddens me that I need to leave 2 stars, it really should be 1 star but I keep on going back because I miss the sweet DD aroma and for that +1. At first, I was very excited that DD opened up in So Cal and right down the road in SaMo and everytime I walk through the door I smell that familiar donut coffee smell that makes DD so memorable. Unfortunately, reality sets in and this is not the DD of my past. :sigh: Everytime I visit (10+), service takes forever and my food/coffee is very inconsistent. Either I get my coffee wicked quickly and I wait 10 mins for my bagel or vice versa. I thought in the beginning when they first opened up they were working out a system but still to this day (last check in 6/7/15), I still waited about 8 mins for the coffee. Then with the coffee - I always get a french vanilla iced coffee extra extra and each time it is a new adventure. Sometimes its too strong and then sometimes its not drinkable. Please, make sure you drink your coffee while still in the store to make sure it is something you are happy with. Lastly, the food. I have been having an egg and cheese on a bagel since I was in HS in the 90s mind you and I know the taste far too well. At this location the bagels are rubbery and the eggs are powdery. ugh so disappointing. Why do I go back? I always regret it. I am just too hopeful. Also, parking sucks.

even just after having demitasse, couldn't pass up a regular non cold brew, non siphoned, non pour over. its still not the dunkin coffee we had back in the day but still very good, and were glad they're back in California.

I had never been here before and the entire crew was ridiculously helpful. They helped explain all of their options, helped tailor fit everything to me, and even let me sample things! They were super helpful and I would come back in a heart beat. I can't remember his name, but a young white man with short black hair who was a shift supervisor was the one who helped me. He was really sweet and kind and understanding, wonderful customer service. Their green tea is really bitter though, watch out for that! Otherwise this place is awesome.

Why did I bother? I never really liked Dunkin Donuts to begin with, but I guess the hype and excitement to them coming to LA sucked me in to give them another try. A half dozen mixed and the worst blended coffee ever later I had the worst stomach ache ever. Not from actually eating all of them, one was worse than the other. The coffee as well as the donuts pure junk, artificial tastes everywhere, not one good bite in the bunch. Unless you are a die hard fan of DD, go to any other donut shop in LA, they are ALL better than this!

Decided to try Dunkin' donuts today for the first time with my sister and it was not what I expected . Seen so many comments saying their donuts are delicious , best donuts etc . But they were the complete opposite . Their donuts are dry some have a weird after taste . I expected better . PLUS one of the workers was rude . Since it was my first time there I wasn't sure where to pick up my drink . I heard my number called and when I got to the counter I seen 3 or 4 drinks on the counter but I wasn't 100 percent sure which one was mine . I wanted to make sure I didn't get the wrong one . 10 seconds later I see the guy taking all the drinks off the counter and when he Came back I asked him about my drink and he says he's been calling my number out and that he threw it out ? Then he walks away saying something smart ... I kept my cool cause I also work in a fast food place and I'd much rather leave a review then say something back. LLike I had literally just finished paying my order and went straight to the counter ? I didn't know They throw their drinks out after a minute of calling numbers out LOL? I Guess he was having a bad day . Probably won't come back , that guys attitude just threw me off , and the donuts could be better . TRY PRIMOS DONUTS ON SAWTELLE AND NATIONAL NOW THOSE ARE GOOD DONUTS .

The lines are gone and you can now walk in and order quickly. As many have pointed out about East Coast favorite Dunkin Donuts, it's NOT about Donuts. They are not that great and you can find much better donuts at other establishments in Southern California. I ordered the Bavarian Kreme among others and they were nothing special. The set up of having the donuts behind the counter/employees also makes it difficult to order. Don't go expecting great Donuts. Dunkin Donuts is all about their coffee. I ordered a French Vanilla Iced Coffee with cream and sugar and it was delicious and a much better value than that Seattle based chain. Download the DD app and enroll in the DD perks program and get any size beverage of your choice FREE. I knocked three stars off my review because the tables were very dirty. They need employees wiping them down constantly. The iced coffee is good, but I wouldn't drink it everyday because it contains HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP. This was the first Los Angeles area location to open followed by Downey. Upland,CA is scheduled to open in January 2015.

Donut holes were bomb but the donuts were okay. I feel that there is too many successful donuts competitors around here. Dunkin donuts is good, but not that good.

Waited a few weeks to let the hype die down, and now there's hardly a wait to treat yourself to some fried goodness. I was surprised by the variety of different donuts they offer, especially for the seasons. I've had their pumpkin, various lemon filled, and crumb topped donuts which were all delicious . Not sure what the big deal with their coffee which I found acceptable but nothing that stood out.

DD on the west coast?!?!? yaaaaaassss!!! Finally, I can go to a DD without a military personnel. This was a drive just to get here. But me and a bestie were in the area. My bestie and I were super excited to start our morning volunteering for the breast cancer walk in santa monica. It was a bit nippy outside, we yelped the closest coffee shop open and sure enough, DD pops up! YAY!!! We arrived around 730am, with barely anyone inside. I took out my cellphone and pulled up the DD app, and we got a free medium beverage. Thank goodness for the app b/c I left my wallet in the car. I use this app everytime im in BOSTON! so handy. The employees were fast and efficient. They were much friendlier than the ones at the marine base. TIP: if u get the the hot cocoa, u have to wait abt 10mins to drink it b/c its EXTREMELY hot and will burn your mouth! 3 stars for the location, parking, and the staff

When I was a little kid, there were actually Dunkin' Donuts locations all across Southern California. My dad and I would go to this one shop by our house. I always insisted on sitting at the counter so I could stare at ALL the donuts. I'd pick my favorite--the Chocolate Kreme Filled Donut--and my dad would get either the French Cruller or Old Fashioned. This was our normal weekend routine. I entered this Dunkin' Donuts location and was immediately brought back to my 8 year old self enjoying donuts with my dad. I was super excited since it's been YEARS since we've had a Dunkin' Donuts in California. I've been able to get my fix by hunting down Dunkin' Donuts locations whenever I traveled. One of the employees suggested to the guy in front of me to order 6 donuts because they had a special where you buy 6 and get 6 for free. When I asked the guy helping me, he said there were no specials except for their Halloween donuts. I am all about free things! Oh well. Of course, I went with my Chocolate Kreme Filled Donut and also got a chocolate glazed cake donut for fun. As I was paying, I noticed the sign that stated the 'buy 6 get 6 special' and was kind of annoyed at the guy for not telling me about this. I took a picture out front and sent it to my dad haha. When I got home, I bit into my donut. Sadly, it was stale and had clearly been sitting out for a long time. I was incredibly disappointed since I had been waiting in anticipation for the long lines to die down. I haven't been back yet, but a co-worker did bring some into the office to celebrate the Giants win with orange and black colored (Halloween) donuts. I tried the Oreo donut which was actually pretty delicious. The vanilla buttercreme inside was the right amount of sweet and I really enjoyed the oreo crumble on top. I will definitely be back to Dunkin' Donuts, just because of the nostalgia of it all, but I think i'll try go earlier in the day when donuts have been freshly baked.

I couldn't believe it! We finally get Dunkin Donuts! I was such a big fan prior to them coming back to Socal and for some reason their donuts didn't taste the same. As always I had to have my Strawberry Donut! It was good, but a little doughy. Maybe it's because we went late at night, but I will definitely go away.

Terrible. Overhyped beyond belief. Bitter old burnt coffee, watered down iced coffee, insanely sweetened artificially flavored pumpkin iced coffee, stale donuts, goopy nasty sticky icing. Vanilla Cream Donut was soooo dryyyyy and had a dime sized pinch of whipped cream in the center. That's what they call cream filling?!!!! Every single item was completely OFF. The absolute worst. Entenmann's boxed supermarket donuts taste better than this crap. And have you people not heard of Stan's Doughnuts, Randy's Donuts or SK Donut? Better yet Krispy Kreme!!! Any of those outlets offer melt in your mouth treats unlike this garbage.

A good place for ridiculous 5AM munchies. I had the turkey breakfast wrap thing, and it was so bomb and delicious I swear I didn't even feel half guilty ruining my diet (it's actually not THAT bad, in all fairness.) Also had the hot latte--given the fact that I've only slept 2 hours now and I'm still hyper-attentive and awake, it seems to be doming the trick!!!!! (notice the massive amounts of exclamations I've added in. This is how caffeinated I am.) Good place to go if you feel ridiculously tired from only two hours of sleep and you still feel compelled to go to the gym for cardio day. YAY!

I've only been here on weekends so far but this location has a steady stream of customers. The service is fast and the workers are friendly. The location seems spacious but there aren't that many tables (they should consider having tables outside). Since it's busy it has a rather lively atmosphere of non-stop chatter, so much that you can't really hear the music playing. It's definitely not the place to go to study unlike most coffee shops, although I guess it's technically considered a donut shop. That being said, I'm not a fan of their donuts. However, I keep eating them because I always get a FREE one, haha. How, you ask? Simple. Once you get a receipt, go online to fill out a short survey and you'll get a code for a free donut with any medium/large drink purchase. How sweet is that? Pun intended. The donuts are really sweet. My favorites are Boston Kreme and Blueberry Cake. This month Dunkin' has heart-shaped donuts which of course I'm a sucker for. I've tried the Cookie Dough topped with chocolate icing and chocolate chips and the Manager's Special which had whipped cream filling and Oreo cookie crumbs. I found the Manager's Special to be too sugary for my taste so I like the Cookie Dough better. Now for the coffee which is the real star of Dunkin'. I've had both the iced coffee and the hot coffee here. The hot coffee is definitely way more flavorful. I like my coffee sweet so I have cream and caramel swirl added. Other flavor swirls available are as French vanilla, hazelnut, and mocha, and the less sweet flavor shots options include raspberry, blueberry, coconut and toasted almond. The Dunkaccino is also pretty good (coffee and hot chocolate) and all in all, I think I keep coming back because the drinks are so affordable. Plus, I'm always getting a free donut and sometimes other items through the DD Perks program. Score!

Overrated and totally over-hyped. I'm sure Dunkin' Donuts is very successful in the mid-West and trying to hold on to its' popularity here in the West Coast, but I was sorely disappointed that they don't carry the really popular chocolate old-fashioned donut! I mean...really? Those donuts are everywhere...everywhere except at Dunkin's. When I asked about it, the guy behind the counter was really puzzled and didn't know what I was referring to. I settled for the chocolate maple bar instead and it was way too sweet and greasy for me. Definitely not worth standing in line for. Stick to your good neighborhood mom n' pop donut shops....better quality donuts and selection indeed!

My absolute dream came true!!! I am an east coast girl, been only on the west coast for three years now and was shocked, saddened, and let's say DEVESTATED when I became aware there were no DD's here. WHAT'S UP WITH THAT CALIFORNIA?!?! Anyway, when this Dunk opened I was one of the crazy people who waited hours upon hours to get an iced coffee. YES, Dunkin' is that important to this east coast girl (I mean come on there's like 7 in my hometown for cryin' out loud). Anyway, Dunkin is the best coffee spot on this planet. End of story. I am DELIGHTED it finally made an appearance in LA.... now if only there were even more! If you're from the east coast, you understand me.

I grew up on the East Coast, so I come to you with a vast and lengthy knowledge of Dunkin Donuts. I was there as they took over the east coast, giving away donuts for 25 cents a pop, and spent my teenage years spending many nights in this fine establishment for hours after going out for a night. This place is more than a donut shop to me, it's a home away from home. Imagine not being home for years. Then all of a sudden, DD's says they are coming to me, in LA. Obviously, I was thrilled. Now imagine going into your familiar home, but the friendly workers are replaced with lazy ones. People who take no pride in their store. The service was slow, the food prepared sloppily. The donuts and bagels tasted borderline stale. It was good enough to eat because I was starving, but otherwise I would have thrown it out. My friend liked his breakfast sandwich and coffee, but you can make the coffee at home better. And for some reason, your home goes from an inviting, simple look - to something out of the 80s with neon lights and neon tshirts for sale. This is Dunkin Donuts, why would anyone want a tshirt? Anyway, if you are an east coaster looking for your favorite early morning coffee spot/ late night munchie spot - try DKs, right down the street. Even Jack in the Box would be an improvement. If you're from the west coast, eager to try your first Dunkin Donut - take a trip out east, because this location is flat out embarrassing.

Let me start out by saying but I grew up in New York and used to go to Dunkin Donuts all the time. That said, this place was not that good I was looking forward to my old favorite donuts the good old chocolate cream filled but alas all I got was a stale dried out donut. But the really good thing I remember about Dunkin Donuts was how good their coffee was, and the coffee here was nothing to write home about. well its nice to see that Dunkin Donuts is finally made it out to California but it's just not the same place that I remember from New York

Went today all the way from the inland empire and waited 2 hours in line! WELL WORTH THE INSANE 2 HOUR WAIT! I got a large vanilla iced coffee, a bacon egg and cheese croissant , DD's famous delicious hasbrowns, and of course a half a dozen of donuts! Everything here is amazing!!! Love their iced coffee!! It is well worth the wait, just can't wait till it calms down so you can actually just walk in and not worry about a huge 2 hour line! Also can't wait till they open some DD's in the Inland empire!! Only sad thing is I got a $65 parking ticket! :( TIP: when parking, DONT PARK ANYWHERE NEAR THE WILLSHIRE AREA NEAR THE APARTMENTS AND STUFF, THEY WILL GIVE YOU A $65 PARKING TICKET!! So be careful where you park!

No no no!!!! Not worth the crazy lines!!!! Don't be curious, don't be enthusiastic... because you will be disappointed!! Like me!!! :( :( :( Woe is me. I tried to come here 5 times. Yes, 5 times. The line was always too long (like greater than 30 minutes long), they were closed (what donut place CLOSES?!), and once they even ran out of donuts!!! Who runs out of donuts???? That definitely piqued my interest. On the 6th try, I decided to wait for these damn donuts. DAMN DONUTS. Line wasn't too long, but was still a 20 minute wait. We got a variety of donuts, hazelnut iced coffee, regular coffee, and munchkins: - Donuts were WHATEVERS!!!! I expected that have an orgasm. What's wrong with you people?!?!? Why did I wait in line for this!??!?! - Coffee was whatevers!!!! I also thought it would give me an orgasm. What the eff man!!! I've had the Dunkin' Donuts store bought coffee where you brew it at home, and it was amazing... How come it wasn't so at the actual store?? - Service was CRAP!!! There was so many people waiting around; they didn't even know what coffee we ordered! I could have totally taken someone else's order and they wouldn't have known. I would hate to see what it's like with normal lines. - Munchkins were pretty yummy. Hahaha. Everyone was right on the munchkins - they're pretty unique and I haven't had donut holes filled with cream at other locations before. Anyway, this gives it an extra star. So yes. 6 tries my friend. DON'T BE FOOLED LIKE ME. I've had to go to DK every time Dunkin' couldn't deliver, and trust me, they're way better!! ... DON'T DO IT!!!

This store FAILS because just last night before we decided to come in, we called to confirm and they close at 11:00... We came 15 mins before closing, an employee named Sep just stopped us by the door and didnt let customers in anymore because his excuse is they have to close now or else they couldn't go home soon. I understand that all employees wants to go home on time. But they have to follow the business hours first of closing the door literally at 11:00pm. Not 10 or more mins early. I am a store manager myself, I don't allow my stores in LA close early regardless if its busy or not. Customers didn't spend their time and gas to drive all the way especially after confirmation of their business hours. We even asked for the manager, Sep said that he is the acting manager that night. We need to talk to the certified swing shift manager instead. Malls, stores, markets and all other business locations here in LA follow their store business hours because if they open late or close early they get penalty. And just like I mentioned before, I know because I have stores myself. Its bad for a brand new store to have this comment but need a management action regarding about this.

  • Hung A.

So I was there at 10:30pm and after i got there and walk to the store, the door was locked and the employees wouldn't let any customers that was waiting outside go in and order..mind you that there were an lady there arguing with an employee because she had called about 15 min before she arrives and had confirmation that the store is closing at 11 am. That same employee told us that the reason why they have to close early because there was still a line inside And after they serve everyone, it's going to be around 12 am by then. I understand that they would like to go home on time but Honestly, I don't think that's a proper way of handling a business. And don't list your hour of operation when the store itself is going to close whenever it pleases.

Dunkin Donuts are no longer fresh. They're made in a factory. Processed. Full of preservatives. No wonder they no longer taste like they used to - they aren't the same. Now, they make more $$$ from the coffee they sell and from their brands. Its too bad. are there any DDs out there that still "make the donuts?" thefastertimes.com/lovea…

This location started off rocky, probably due to the MASSIVE crowds, but they've really stepped up their game. The staff seems to be faster and friendlier now, and food is on par with the East Coast versions. Couldn't be happy that this New England staple is right in my neighborhood! Thanks Dunkin!

Showed up at 4:30am, was 2nd in line, and the line was only 5 people long by the 5am opening time. They had boxes of donuts already packaged up which was super convenient. Everyone was really nice! I ordered 2 dozen donuts, a hazelnut coffee, and sausage breakfast croissant. The croissant had a weird taste to it, but I can't pinpoint what it is. It was a little unpleasant, but the overall sandwich was good. The hazelnut coffee also tasted a little off, but the donuts were spot on! Thanks, DD! And welcome to Cali!

It breaks my heart to give a DUNKIN DONUTS in THE LOS ANGELES AREA one star but right now, it has to be done. My 8 months pregnant girlfriend and I waited an hour in line. As we're steps away from the register the woman in front of us ordered three dozen donuts, cleaning out four of the flavors we'd just waited an hour to get. There needs to be some sort of limit in place when everyone else is waiting that long, especially when they didn't have any other fresh donuts to replace them. So we'll get some hot items. A breakfast sandwich or something. Nope. The ovens are down. Even though I can see the ovens. And every single one of them is on. It honestly makes me wonder if they couldn't handle the line so they just bailed on all the hot items in an attempt to keep some sort of control. So now we're 0 for 2 and we settle for two ice coffees. Well, they gave our first two away to the wrong person. The second set was made wrong and then finally, on the third try and 10 minutes after we ordered them, we were given the correct drinks. So after an hour and fifteen minutes we watched someone else get all the donuts we were hoping for, were told we couldn't order hot food and got ice coffees as our consolation prize. I knew it wasn't going to be lightning fast service and everything would be pretty well picked through but that was ridiculous. And it will be a very, very long time before we go back.

Coffee: I had the French Vanilla and I'm so glad I can finally enjoy the coffee I had on a roughly daily basis back in NYC and Buffalo. The French Vanilla tasted great and I'll definitely be back for more soon. Service: Service is fairly prompt here. Although they definitely have plenty of business, this place seems like it's managed fairly well and the staff is able to handle a high volume of customers. The reason this place gets 3 stars instead of 4 stars is because the counters and tables look like they had donut crumbs and used napkins on them. As I'm sure the staff is busy tending to customers, they might want to also periodically wipe down the counter and tables.

Finally made it over and ordered a regular ol' coffee. It was a little on the weak side, but that classic Dunkin' flavor was there- exactly what I came for. Is there tons of better coffee in a one mile radius? Probably, but it's just not Dunkin'. I didn't actually try the donuts yet, but I'm sure they'll hit that "yep that's a Dunkin' Donut" sweet spot. I found the staff to be incredibly helpful. I majorly flubbed registering a gift card to the perks program and both the cashier and the manager were very patient getting it all sorted. 5 star service!

DD in LA? Automatic 5 stars right? For the donuts, yes I would give it 5 stars but I'm knocking 3 down for the HORRIBLE service I got from the workers. First of all, you would be waiting outside the store for awhile but I was willing because donuts, like why not right? But once we reached the front of the line(outside the store mind you), the guy who was letting people in did not acknowledge our existence whatsoever. No smile. No hello. No eye contact. No how are you doing today. No how many in your party questions. Absolutely NOTHING!!! And yes, he let us in still without looking at us. Okay so now we're in. And my friends and I were next in line. We broke up in 2 groups because we're paying separately. So they called my group first and took our order no problem. Very simple. Very quick. So they called my other group of friends next. But about halfway through them ordering, they yelled next to get the group behind them. Yes! They weren't done yet and they called to get the next group. The next group didn't want to go to because they know my friends were not done ordering. But the lady insisted. And if you were wondering, it was on the same cash register that was open. They charged the other group that wasn't with us first and everything too. Why did they do that? I don't know. And so my friend got a drink and now we're waiting for it. 5 minutes and still not out. And oh that screen that had drink orders only had that one drink we were waiting for. Barista was taking his sweet ass time making the drink while talking to another employee. I understand waiting if he was busy making drinks, not busy talking to his co-worker. And the best part was, the drink had no flavor. I couldn't even name the drink because it absolutely tasted like nothing. I feel like they rushed to hire people because those employees don't know what good customer service is. All I know is that, I will not return to this location. EVER. If I really want some DD, I will patiently wait for another one to open hoping the customer service is better.

First of all: Those of you who are leaving less than 5 stars are obviously not from the east coast. Dunkins is not the "best" donuts ever BUT us east coasters grew up on it. The first sip of coffee- Dunkins. Our first bite of a donut- Dunkins. Every morning in highschool I would stop at dunkins and get my bagel with veggie cream cheese and an iced coffee extra extra (that means extra cream extra sugar) The buzz around this shop opening is not because of the quality of the product its for the excitement of the fact that Dunkins is FINALLY in California! I am from Boston and when I pulled up to this Dunkins I was almost in tears. The smell, the look, the sign, the sugar packets, the taste, it all hit home. Childhood memories of stopping at Dunkins before every family roadtrip, memories of my first "date" when I was 13 my parents would only let me have a date at the Dunkins in my hometown. Its the fact that Dunkins is here is why I waited in line for 1 hour. I am SO excited to have this in my new place I call home. XO

Long story short - this is **not** the Dunkin Donuts I used to know and love. Not even close. I was a loyal customer of Dunkin's for many years when I lived in Oregon, and before they closed down all the west coast stores. They still have a presence, and a substantial one, in other parts of the country/world, including in many airports. But, I have to say, this was a very disappointing visit. My friends and I were on the way back from dining in Santa Monica and I spotted it - all of us were elated and we of course had to stop. We did not know they had opened a store here in town. Anyhow, we went in, there was a bit of a line but not bad, and that's when 'oh jeez, this isn't what I remember' kicked in. They had no jelly donuts, no maple bars, no powdered sugar donuts. The only bite-sized ones they had were blueberry ones (and I hate blueberries.) The menu, digital, consisted of a slew of coffee drinks and McDonalds'ish wraps and breakfast sandwiches. I wanted a maple bar, but had to settle for a maple-frosted donut. Mind you, there's a Krispy Kreme (yuck) right across the street. I don't see myself returning unless they bring back the large variety of donuts that they always used to have. It looks like the focus is about one-third on the donuts and two-thirds on the coffee drinks and other menu items. Someone else on here stated that the donuts are now made in a factory and shipped in! And you know, that's exactly what my maple frosted donut tasted like. It was far from fresh-tasting. The greatest appeal, for me and so many millions of others, was the fact that the donuts were prepared on-site in the morning (cue the TV commercial: "Time to make the donuts!") and served throughout the day. Another small aside, when my friend bought his donuts, they put them in a flat box a la Krispy Kreme. For as long as I can remember, Dunkin's and Winchell's always used those cardboard lunchbox-style boxes. Bring em back!!

This place is proof that nothing draws a crowd like a crowd. For two weeks people stood in line like sheep with little value of their time. My wife and I found it empty this weekend and went in.. The doughnuts were horrible! Again, the doughnuts were horrible! I would bet money they actually thaw them since they don't look like they're made on the premises. We bought half a dozen of 3 different variations, and all were stale and dry. We literally threw them away.. all of them. I'm no doughnut connoisseur, but the Krispy Kreme literally across the street serves warm, fresh doughnuts. So what is the line for? Is it the coffee?! (Man, that must be damn good coffee.) Is it the crap-service from the cigarette smelling kid that boxed my dessert? Is it the nostalgia for east coasters? Note: I grew up on the East coast and have had plenty of DD in my time and this coffin-sized locale didn't live up.

Like others have said, those leaving low stars don't know. It's just like EastCoasters thinking In-N-Out is not good. It's just one of those things. The staff is great and super nice. The drinks are just as I remembered, donuts are so yum and the sandwiches are good. It's great, but not good enough to stand in line for if you know what it tastes like. Either go early to beat the rush or in the late afternoon.

Something I learned about Dunkin Donuts while living on the east coast... You go for the coffee. Pretend the word Donuts isn't even there. Cover one eye if you must! THE DONUTS AIN'T ALL THAT. The coffee, however, will turn your blue eyes brown (subtle poop joke? Peeeeerhaps). We went to the newly opened DD in Santa Monica yesterday. The line sucks. SUCKS. It took us 3 hours to finally get in front of a register. We ordered the chicken biscuit sandwich (Candy Crush voice: DIVINE), hash browns (the tits), 2 dozen donuts (whateves), pumpkin iced coffee (BOOM), mocha Coolatta (Mmmmmmm), and the sausage & egg croissant sandwich (floats away on a cloud surrounded by cats). Vegan or lactose intolerant? Don't even trip, boo! This DD location has almond milk! I was nervous that L.A. would choke and be some whack version of the east coast, but I was wrong! Ya did good, kid! I won't be seeing you again for at least 6 months, but I'll think of you fondly!

Dunkin donuts is the best coffee spot in the world! Always a friendly staff here when we come in this location! Dunkin donuts is taking over California and Starbucks ain't stopping us cause dunkin donuts is the best! First time I had dunkin donuts was in Manchester, Ct when I was painting at a target store! That's when my coffee life changed and was baptized by dunkin donuts! Thanks dunkin donuts for all the goodies you guys have!

Suuuper disappointing. I walked in with the intention of buying one donut and left with a 1/2 dozen. There's a good assortment of donuts available and the line was only 5 min long on a Sunday evening, but man - those donuts were not soft! Considering how popular this place is, you would think they'd be making donuts every 10 minutes. You really have to nuke these babies if you want them soft and warm. On the east coast, the donuts are made at a local factory and shipped to different locations. There's no other DD's in LA, which makes me wonder just how "fresh" these donuts are.

So excited to have Dunkin Donuts on the west coast finally... having moved to Los Angeles only 3 years ago from NJ, I have been drinking my home brewed bag of Dunkin Donuts coffee, but missed getting a fresh cup of coffee from DD. Not only is it affordable, but as a long time coffee drinker; there is something about it that I personally love over any more expensive coffee shops that currently flood Los Angeles. My only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is because I was hoping they'd be a 24 hour location since it's the first one in Los Angeles area and parking is very limited so it's hard to get there during open hours. Looking forward to more locations (hopefully in SFV) and really love having my fresh DD coffee again so thank you.

The Santa Monica Dunks is rad to have around, but it's not quite up to its East Coast buds. You're definitely not getting in and out the door as fast as you would have in Boston or New York. That said, you can't beat Dunks iced coffee. Anywhere. No contest. Get the iced coffee, enjoy a donut or sandwich, and then get more iced coffee on your way out.

I was one of the first 10 people in the door on opening day and especially since we spent the night on the sidewalk we couldn't have had a better experience. My group of three arrived at 4:30 pm on sept 1st, just barely over 12 hours before opening. The management team had just delivered fresh muffins to the small group waiting outside. They came out to take pictures with us and the owner came to meet each one of us. As they left for the night (around 7:30pm) they asked if we needed anything. Jokingly we said deodorant, an hour later they were back deodorant in hand. The whole team was incredibly nice to us. As promised the team showed up again to turn on the lights at 3:30 am. The doors opened at 5am on the dot and we were gifted swag just as promised. Especially considering they had a never ending line ahead of them for the day ahead the team couldn't have been more chipper. They filled our orders quickly and efficiently and made sure the press was able to cover the event without letting customer service for those of us that had been in line so long waiver for a second. The coffee, breakfast sandwiches and donuts were as amazing as we remembered. They took extra care to make sure to get our orders right. There are a few parking spots in the back, metered spots on Wilshire and a few on 12th before it turns to permits. There is more non-permitted street parking a block south.

Being a big Dunkin Donuts fan from East coast, I was little too excited to come here. I was bummed that they don't have Egg & cheese croissant, but I did have artichoke & spinach bagel which was delicious. Having a big cup of coffee without paying heaps of dollars( referring Starbucks) felt good. Also I felt seating was too little , and they should have made better use of the place to make room for more tables, we had to walk out as there was no room to sit.

The coffee is flavored with shots of syrup, it's not brewed flavored coffee like on the east coast. The hazelnut syrup is overly sweet and tastes terrible. The donuts and munchkins taste the same as on the east coast, but for me a trip to Dunkins was always about the delicious coffee. Also, they got my coffee order wrong twice. I asked for skim milk, no sugar. Twice they gave me coffee with cream and sugar. What a waste after standing in line for so long! I know this store is brand new and hopefully they'll work the kinks out. But I was really disappointed, especially after just being on the east coast last week and having the true Dunkins experience. The employee who manned the front door was really nice. But the people behind the counter need some further training.

So I must say I have never in my life stood in such a long line for food (an hour and ten minutes to be exact), but it was definitely worth it. I had a strawberry glazed with sprinkles (looks like The Simpsons donut) and a pumpkin pie donut. Both donuts were fresh and delicious. The pumpkin pie was my favorite though, it had pumpkin pie flavored icing with crumbs on top and a little bit of pumpkin pie filling in the middle, which gave it that extra oomph. Definitely will come here again but will give it a couple weeks at least for the crowds to die down. P.S. The staff was very friendly, and efficient :-)

Funny, as an ex-New Yorker, I'm really unimpressed by Dunkin Donuts when I'm back in New York. It's probably the last thing I want to eat. But when I finally made it into the new Santa Monica location, it was like a little slice of the East Coast. This DD is definitely better than most of the dingy old ones back in NY. The donuts are fresher and it looks really clean. Unlike everyone else buying big boxes, I only got 2 donuts - chocolate glazed and maple glazed. The chocolate glazed was OK, but the maple was outstanding. Easily the best donut I've had in LA. Blows away DK donuts and Krispy Kreme. Get there early in the morning to avoid a long line. Parking is tough. The time you actually get in the store to finally getting served, the wait is about 10-15 minutes. Enjoy!!

  • Miles P.

A few weeks after opening, and driving by on my way to work everyday, I finally saw no line out the door, so I decided to stop for a dozen for my office. Most important point here: donuts and coffee should not be a two hour experience. Just say no, people! We are our own worse enemies -- do not get in a line down the block for donuts that people on the east coast buy in gas stations. It's not worth it, especially when there are great mom and pop donut places nearby (see: DK Donuts) Having said that -- the donuts are pretty bomb. The coffee is legit, too. The blueberry donut is really something else. Such fresh blueberry flavor. If you are there without a wait, get some because they are tasty. Otherwise, don't be an ass and wait down the block for mass-produced donuts.

  • Daniel S.

I grew up and lived on the east coast and this Dunkin Donuts is legit. The donuts and coffee taste right. Just the way I like em! Dunkin delicious!! This location doesn't deserve any less than 5 stars. Most of the complaints so far have been that they ran out of food or were slow in serving it. And sure they didn't know what I meant when I said, "light and sweet," but what do you expect from a brand new store? Especially considering that they're one of the first on the west coast. Cut them some slack people! Bottom line: it's AWESOME that they brought Dunkin to the west!

don't get me wrong i love their donuts and I understand the line. But if the oven is not working and you let someone wait for over 20 mins. for a hot item. is not right!!!!. I asked if they were making it and they say oh the oven is not working. what!!!! I'm not on a lunch break geez.... I work right across the street and all they did was say oh sorry. where is the gift card people? I will be calling to speak with the manager. they need a better process for food... I have to change this because I spoke with Leslie Operations Director and she was super nice and was just down right Awesome... Thank you Leslie

So it looks like the CRAZY lines that were around closer to opening has calmed down a bit. Though it could have been that I stopped by on a weekday morning at around 7:15. Maybe a total of about 6 people in line as I got in, and I was out in about 5 minutes. The employees are all working hard, but they're still working on getting the kinks out. I had a guy ask what I was going to get. 2 dozen assorted... A couple guys start working on it. When the next cashier opens up I go to pay, and she asks if I got my donuts yet. I say no... so then she tries to start up a new 2 dozen. Fortunately one of the guys working on my order realizes she's duplicating an order, so he corrects her. She gave me a brief look like it was my fault... but maybe she just needs to ask if I've already put my order in yet? Anyway, parking kind of stinks. Looks like the neighboring businesses all put up cones so no one else will park in them. The small lot looks a bit like Bay Cities, but hopefully that'll die down soon.

Great place to go if you want to order one thing and then leave with something completely different. They also have a great expedite system where they make you stand on one side of the counter and then angrily shout your number at the other side of the store. I recommend the chocolate munchkins.

THe line is still around the BLOCK a week LATER whats ALL the HYPE!!! I had to go check it out,,,,,,, soooooooooo THey are actually really good donuts, Blueberry is to die for. Maple Raise were yummy Boston cream pie was the best Ive had not to sweet.. Let me say I get heart burn everytime i have a donut and this time SURPRISE no heart burn bc they r not SOAKED in oil. I get why all the easterners swear by this place... thumbs up cons the register area is a mess and confusing and the have boxes blocking the sneez gaurd so you cant make eye contact with employees pre made dozens are not that great better off picking your own

The service I received was very good! I am always indecisive when it comes to picking things, but the guy who helped me was very patient and kind, he even recommended tons of great choices. The price is reasonable, with a donut at .99 cents, half a dozen at $5 something, and so on. I ordered a croissant chicken salad sandwich (just the sandwich) which was very reasonable at $3 something. The combo is $5 something, which is cool! I would definitely recommend getting some type of food here, it was very enjoyable. I would come back to try more of their options. However the downside is that their donuts are not as great as I wished. Their glazed is NOTHING compared to those at Krispy Kreme donuts. My favorite is their blueberry glazed; it was SOOOO good. I wish I just got a box of those instead. My second favorite is their lemon kreme filled donut. I haven't tried their drinks, maybe some day?

  • Sunny D.

I will start with the good .. My coffee tasted great but I came here for the donuts . Disappointing .. If I'm gonna eat something bad for me I at least want it to be worth it. I would have preferred hostess chocolate donuts in a package. Waste of calories

  • Mattie L.

The munchkins were good. The store is tiny and waited an hour for the donuts. The girl at the cashier doesn't know how to use the cash register which is really unprofessional especially in this long line. I kept telling her to use my free coffee coupon and she still forgets. I don't understand how hard is it to use the cash register. Instead of being apologetic she was acting rude to defend her inability to properly use a register without her coworkers help. Manager: make sure your staff knows how to use the register, waiting in line for an hour and waiting even longer when some staff is not trained is even more annoying!

    (3)
  • Vivian G.

So disappointed I waited in line for an hour and that wasn't so much of a big deal for me though. Me and my bf ordered a vanilla bean drink plus a French vanilla iced coffee. The vanilla bean tasted like milk no vanilla bean flavor and the iced coffee tasted like coffee with milk. I expected it to taste like French vanilla . The donuts are okay they were cold and they ran out of most of the good donuts. I think the problem is that there is so many people and it's so small and crowded. The workers are going in fast pace so the drinks came out shitty. I wish my experience could of been better but I won't be driving out here again sadly. Not worth it.

I can't describe how happy I am that a little piece of home is finally with me here in SoCal!! I went on opening day and stood in the ridiculous line (I will admit I probably wouldn't have waited if I had known how long it would take....about 2.5 hours mid-day!). But it was oh so worth it once I had the familiar taste of an egg and cheese sandwich on a bagel, and my dozen donuts. Hurry to get the Pumpkin Donut while it's in season because it's amazing!! So happy Dunks is here and I hope many more open.

Yes there are lines but the coffe (hot) and donuts are pretty sucky. Maybe there are some east coast Santa Monica plants which in nostalgia alone will rate this place high but truly the morning I went to pick up two dozen donuts for the office along with coffee the only thing that earned them the second star was the pleasant staff. The folgers coffee we brew at the office is better then the sorry excuse they serve for coffee. And really the donuts were so bad any local non branded donut shop should be able to do far better. Yes far better without exaggeration. And if they let me buy 2 boxes of stale donuts and they can do better makes no difference, I for one will never be back. Not that I am a donut aficionado, after all my favorite donut is at Hinoki & the bird, sorry dunkin rather then a block away from Krispy Kreme on Wilshire you belong in the mid to late 80s in some nostalgic memory of what was good for then.

Finally... Dunkin' Donuts in California!! BEST. EVER. COFFEE. I lived in New England for 12 years and never had better coffee. But I'm a native California girl and craved Dunkin's coffee since moving back 10 years ago. So thanks for finally making it out here! For all you mean and disgusting critics out there: Get a clue. They're not known for the best donuts - never have been. If you did your homework, which most of you negative wannabe critics obvisouly haven't - you would know this. As far as the bad service reviews, I can't speak to that. They need to train their staff better, add more staff or get rid of the bad staff who aren't service oriented. Bottom line is Welcome to California Dunkin'!! And looking forward to the grand opening of the Irvine store later this year. My coffee dreams are finally coming true... :D

Coffee was good and donuts were Ok. Nothing to write home about. The service was meh. We were the sixth people in line and when I turned around the line was out the door! People must just go for the name only because its not that great sorry. Yum Yum is just as good.

Grew up eating these donuts so I was excited to see one open up near me. I didn't have to wait long since they had a lot of workers. But they didn't give me the correct order for my jelly munchkin donuts. I tried their blueberry and chocolate munchkins. They were good but probably wouldn't come on a normal basis.

This brings me back memories of growing up on the east coast. This is much smaller and more "la" swanky with smoothies and other options. The staff is friendly and attentive. There are still crazy lines here. I spend over 35 min for a donut. But you cant go wrong with their honeyglazed or jelly. Today I tried the pumpkin pie.... Im not sure how i feel about it yet but im glad i tried it. And excited that DD will be a growing presence in the coming years in so cal

When I left Philly 30 yrs ago, one of the things I missed on the left coast was good donuts. I've never liked the taste of them out here , and suspect it is the difference in the water. So I was hopeful that when DD opened around the corner from me that would change. After waiting almost a month for the line to become reasonable I finally gave it a shot. The good news is that they actually had vanilla glazed in stock, my favourite and often hard to find when I was growing up. The bad news is that it tastes no better than any other out here. I completely agree with the reviews that the donuts are too chewy and cake like. I took about two bites out of it, tried a different type with the same result and tossed them in the trash. The coffee wasn't very good either. Still hungry I went down the street to La Monarca for good Mexican pastry. Bottom line, you can't go home again. Go with the local bakeries that make things fresh.

Took me back to the east coast coming here. The breakfast sandwiches are the best and I can never get enough of the munchkins. They have pumpkin ones right now which I'm loving.. They still have a long line but the experience makes up for it. The only thing is I wish they sold individual donuts by itself. Maybe they will later?

My childhood came rushing back as I walked out the door with a box of 25 munchkins. I delivered them to friends all over the westside, spreading so much joy. The munchkins were just as good as I remembered--the chocolate being (in my opinion) by far the best one. I also loved the seasonal pumpkin ones. One of my friends teased that munchkins are a slippery slope, and I think she's right....I'm grateful I don't live close or I might be back there now getting more.

third time a charm. i waited in line for the third time in a week - this time at 6:30 am so i could make it to work in time and bring in fresh goodies and be the life of the party. mission accomplished - i was a rock star in the office. the wait was only 15 - 20 minutes at this early hour! and everyone was SO nice! the employees all were fast and friendly. there is a cashier to take your order, then a donut handler, a coffer maker, and a hot foods maker, whom all work as a team. the reason the line takes so long is everyone just takes forever to decide what they want at the counter.

I've come here twice & both visits took less than 15 mins. First time was about a month after it opened at like 4pm and not much people (like maybe 8 people ahead of me) and today at 1045am and 4 people ahead of me. I'm biased coz I grew up with DD in Philippines but only the donuts (chocobutternut ! Which ive only seen in Vegas and called something else) .... So the sandwiches/bagels etc are a treat....

I'm originally from Chicago & spent many mornings here for breakfast, I was really looking forward to see how this would hold up. It's a really cute location they have seating to accommodate 20 people. No outdoor seating such a bummer. I that they are here. Everything was great!

I'm giving it a two star for the quality of the products. I'm a Dunkin Donut fan. Wherever I see a Dunkin Donut I have to stop the car and get my Dunkin. Today's visit was probably not a good day for the employees. All the employee that I encounter from the cashier, donut server and the barista were very rude and arrogant. They were all looking me in the eye like I'm one homeless person. One employee even told me, 'Ma'am, please don't cross the line (what line?) when I was choosing my donuts. Overall, I just wish the owner would hire more decent, professional, customer oriented employees.

I give this place a 3.5 stars but rounding up to 4. I'm an eastcoast girl and grew up with Dunkin Donuts. It's the first place I hit whenever I go home. So I was super excited to get one here. I went on Wednesday morning and waited in line for about 45 minutes. Not too bad. I will say the staff there are super nice and pretty fast. My gripe is with the donuts. Not a huge variety like they do back home. No white powdered donuts and no cinnamon powdered donuts!! What the hell? The breakfast sandwich I got was pretty good but I was seriously disappointed in the variety. I'll give it another chance but only when all of the hype dies down.

How could you not love Dunkin' Donuts? I went in and bought a dozen at around 10:15 at night and they were all still extremely fresh. Another plus is the service, which was prompt and friendly. I can't wait until they open more in CA! Also get the Dunkin Donuts app for coupons and rewards!

I waited for 5 hours the first night it opened and it was worth every minute. The chocolate glazed made me think I was back home in CT or on my way to see a Sox game at Fenway. Sadly, no green monster anywhere near the 405 on the way back home though A 20 year dream come true- Dunkin' in LA. Life is good!

I only get to go to Dunkin Donuts once every couple years or so since there aren't much of them around, but i always look forward to it. This week i saw a tv ad for their new angus steak and egg sandwich so we went today. It was delicious! The munchkins is always my standard take home treat too. The coffee though could have been better i think. It kinda lacked flavor....

It's nice to see Dunkin back in LA but this store needs help already. I ordered a cup of coffee at 5:30am and waited 10 minutes. Really? Not to mention the coffee was warm not hot. The music was blasting and to find extra sugar packets was a scavenger hunt. Get it together or people will walk down the block to Starbucks

I stood in line the Friday of opening week (a few days after the day it opened). The start time was 1:20pm, finish time 2:30pm. Props to those that actually waited in line opening day, camping out and all lol. HARDCORE! I was eager to try Dunkin Donuts so that I can say that I've tried the LA Dunkin Donuts and say, "You ain't got nothin' on us, East Coasters!" Now I can say that I've tried them. Would I wait in a long line to get my digs on them again? No. I'm glad to hear that more Dunkin locations will be opening in socali, closer to my area. Personally, I prefer Krispy Kremes. If I am in the vicinity and craving donuts, I'd get some. But would I drive out of my way and stand in line to get some? No. Donuts are something I might crave like twice a year. Plus, I can make them at home or go to the local donut shop for easier access. But nonetheless, it was an experience. I haven't stood in line for food like this since the Kogi Truck. Social media and marketing had me really wanting to try 'em. This may change shortly when the hype dies down, but watch out for local residents trying to shoo away the parking space hogging Dunkin customers. The street signs were not much different on each corner. But I had a guy coming out to tell me that I couldn't park on the street without a permit (Santa Monica and Wilshire area). I asked where I might find parking. He told me to go down the next block to so and so. I found the same signs there, so I figured he was bullsh*tting to get rid of the street parking hoggers. I came out over an hour later (sign suggests 2 hour parking, permits exempt). and my car was ticket-free. I got donuts (half dozen) in Bavarian Kreme, Blueberry Cake, French Cruller, Oreo, and Pumpkin Pie. I'd say I like the Blueberry Cake and Bavarian the best. I haven't tried the Pumpkin Pie yet, but I am eager to get a taste later. For more on my Dunkin Donut adventure, behgopa.com/2014/09/dunk… behgopa.com

Hands down, it's one of the best donut shop in the world. I had DD two years ago up in Salt Lake City, UT with my cousin and we crave donuts and chug hazelnut iced coffee. I was there on the day of my birthday with my two sisters to get half a dozen donuts. Everything that's made there will always be splendid, no doubt. I would love to come back when I get the chance.

DUNKIN' DONUTS in SoCal...FINALLY! As a Mid-Westerner, I grew up on Dunkin' Donuts and have been missing it since moving here. Suffice it to say, I freaked out when I found out there was one opening in Santa Monica. It was like the heavens finally opened up to answer my prayers. Dunkin' Donuts is just as I remembered it. My favorite are the Munchkins. I love that they have it available in other flavors other than the originals. Though they are open late (midnight), get here early in the day so you have more flavor options to choose from, as they tend to run out of the popular donut flavors by the end of the day. Note: Even though this location has been open for quite a while since it's grand opening, it's still pretty busy inside, even at 10pm.

So great to have DD. Finally! It is all about the coffee folks. The donuts are a bonus. This shop has friendly staff. It made my 10 year old daughter's birthday to "make a run" and surprised her and her friends with a dozen. Welcome to California, old friend. #friendsdontletfriendsdrinkstarbucks

Can't say I was bowled over by these donuts. Chocolate glazed, French Crullers and Old Fashioned. They were okay, but I'll take the 13 mile drive to Long Beach's Broadway donuts any day, thank you. Parking was easy (in the back, we got lucky a couple spaces were available), service was swift and friendly, traffic was a mess. Long line, but it was quick. Small shop, as most donut shops are, but it was organized and folks behind the counter were efficient. I can say I crossed this one off the list of donuts to eat...and likely won't go back any time soon unless I happen to be on Wilshire at 6am'ish. The donuts just didn't do it for me. And the coffee? Eh, it was okay. I'm still a die hard Peet's fan.

We dropped by around 6pm on a Sunday evening. The line was not as long as I had expected outside to about the last glass window. The whole DD experience took about an hour and 45 minutes. For the most part staff were really friendly. There seemed to be disorganization in the service. Cashier not knowledgeable of the combos and their shift leader was not leading her staff. At one point the shift leader ranted about the bathroom and took 2 employees from the floor to make it a point to check out the mess the last patron made in the ladies room. Yes, customers are watching. Also, there wasn't a constant 2nd person at the register. It wasn't like clockwork like you would see at In-N-Out. People taking orders and people satisfying those order like it was a one constant process. There was a lot of standing around in the back and a lot of small talks even by management. Other than that drinks, breakfast sandwiches, and donuts met our expectations. Big props to Jonnas (sorry if I misspelled your name). She was super friendly and kept the family entertained and gave suggestions while they waited patiently outside the entrance. Thanks for the tip! We enjoyed those Spicy Sausage Sandwiches with our donuts and drinks. My wife kept talking about how good they were the entire ride home. Can't wait for more DD's to start popping up to ease the wait/long lines.

Bummer. Disappointed. I'm from the Midwest and back home they have a larger assortment of donuts including Cinnamon and Powdered Sugar Cake donuts, respectively. That's my shit. I guess they're trying to cater to the Californians who don't expect or care for variety and who are wowed by flashy items. I definitely went with the sole intention of ordering a Cinnamon and Powdered Sugar Cake, or Old Fashioned rather, which were the basic staples of Dunkin' back in the day. They should also put on the menu less than 25 munchkins for people who only want 5 or 10. At the time of this writing, fuggedabout it. Bastards.

The extraordinary hype over this place scared me away but I finally made my pilgrimage yesterday morning. The line was only ten minutes long (just before 9am) and most of that wait time was due to customers' wacky ordering behavior, rather than staff incompetence. The pumpkin spice munchkins are great, I'd get those again. The other flavors are not that special. My first Coolatta experience was horrible. I can't believe humans are capable of consuming a medium-sized anything of something that sickly sweet. I mixed in some black coffee back at the office and still couldn't get through it.

I was so excited to hear that Dunkin Donuts had finally opened an LA location, I'm a huge fan of Dunkin on the East Coast, and really missed the simplicity, and down right homey goodness that comes with every steaming hot cup of coffee and sandwich. With one in Santa Monica (not exactly down the street, but... closer than Vegas) I was looking forward to my visit. I miss the Northeast so badly and it would have made LA just a little bit brighter for me... if it had been run anything like an East Coast Dunkin Donuts.... The line was very long, but I expected that. Everyone in line was friendly and it was fun to talk and connect with other people and find out where everybody was from and why we had all decided to stand in this crazy line for donuts and coffee. Sadly, the wait was the least of this locations problems. There were only four people working inside the actual store, three at the counter and only one in the kitchen, they have two registers but were only using one and even people that were just ordering doughnuts and coffee (hardly complicated orders) seemed to be taking forever. Heaven forbid anyone order a sandwich, hashbrowns and a coolatta, at this store I'm not sure that would have been possible- at least not before 2015. There was obviously plenty of customers but somehow it didnt seem to be important to make food at a speed that would meet the demand. When I reached the counter there were only a few flavors of doughnuts available and only two kinds of munchkins. When I asked for the Spicy Smoked Sausage Sandwich they told me they were out of it but my boyfriend saw a guy walk out 5 minutes later with a stack of smoked sausages? Okay... I ordered two combo number fours, I specified "combo", the girl working the register asked me what kind of drinks I wanted with each combo (so she knew, what a combo was), and the proceeded to apparently charge me separately for my coffee and sandwich... When my food is prepared I have only one coffee and I had ordered two, when I brought the items on my receipt to the attention of the people working the counter, the guy told me that she had only charged me for one coffee, go back to the register and have her charge me for one more. Confused, I did what he said but....I had ordered combos? and the items were all listed on the receipt, not to mention the fact that whatever it was that had happened it was her error and not mine, the correct response would have been to just give me the coffee that I ordered. But at this point I just wanted to get my food so I complied without a fuss. When I finally sat down in my car to (finally!) enjoy my sweet Dunkin bliss.... there were no hashbrowns in my bag and my coffees were not the beautiful, creamy perfect specimens that I looked forward to each morning on the East Coast but a muddled, slightly sweetened...something. I mean not terrible, but nothing like what I was used to. My Boston and Bavarian cream doughnuts had hardly any cream in them at all, I mean I'm really not trying to nitpick but.... nothing was up to the standard of what I have come to know and love. Disappointing altogether. I will not be making the drive out to Santa Monica for that again.

I've never tried Dunkin and heard the hype so against my better judgement, I went Sunday morning to wait in line, figuring church and football would give me a better wait. Apparently, everyone else thought the same. The Good: 1) The staff was very friendly, despite being overwhelmed and presumably overworked due to the long lines for the opening. 2) Management did a fairly good job wrangling the mess. They only allowed a certain number of people in at a time, handed out papers to get everyone's orders before they went inside so it was ready when they got to the register. One staff member was holding court at the door to make sure the line was being controlled. 3) Food - I ordered a dozen assorted. The strawberry with sprinkles was good, if a bit sweet. From how quickly my friends ate the rest of the donuts, it's safe to say they were pretty damn tasty. My favorite was the breakfast sandwich. I had the spicy smoked sausage sandwich with egg and cheese and it was spectacular. I inhaled it so quickly, I wasn't able to take a picture. The iced coffee was just ok. I tend to like strong lattes, but wanted to give the iced coffee with cream and sugar a try. It was decent, but not if you like stronger stuff. The Bad: 1) Everyone in line waited 2-3 hours minimum. That's not the bad part, it's what to expect if you go right now. The bad is we had a cutter who pretended she needed to use the bathroom, or needed a cup of water, and was let in. Then, she jumped into the line. A man, who was standing behind her, saw her pull the stunt and went inside to tell the manager. Instead of refunding her money and telling her to go to the end of the line, or ban her from the place, the staff member/manager talked to her and then allowed her to keep her purchases and sit inside the air conditioned place while the rest of us who waited patiently for hours were still stuck outside in line. The staff member/manager gave the man, who complained, a box of munchkins, which he nicely shared with us. But the cutter was not punished. When we later asked what happened, the only comment we were given was that they had heard every story imaginable, and that they didn't witness what happened. However, the 10 people I was standing with all made it clear she cut us in line and nothing was done. This just proved to us that we should have all been a-holes and cut too. 2) They got my order wrong. I ordered 2 chocolate sprinkles in my dozen and got two plain chocolate donuts. I take some blame for not noticing til I got home. They also got my sandwich order wrong. I originally ordered a spicy smoked sausage and a sausage/egg/cheese croissant. I got 2 spicy smoked sausage sandwiches. Again, I take blame for not checking, but they were wrapped and I was so tired, I took it and went home. I didn't notice it until I inhaled the first sandwich and unwrapped the second one. For how long I waited in line, it would have been nice for them to double check the orders before handing them over, especially since they had the donut orders way in advance. 3) This may be an unpopular notion, but considering how bonkers the grand opening has been, it would have been nice for management to institute a maximum order number. Any place that is selling a popular item tends to only allow a person the ability to buy a maximum number so more people can share in the product. Knowing the wait is 2-3 hours, why didn't management cap the max at two dozen donuts per person (not counting add ons like sandwiches, munchkins, etc.) just for the first couple weeks. The line would have moved faster and everyone could have had a taste and come back for more. They were running out of donuts, so it was really frustrating to see selfish people leaving the store with 5 dozen donuts each. Yes, those customers were horrible people. Yes, I get the store wants the long lines and will make the money regardless but it would have been more considerate of them to institute some kind of policy so people don't take advantage and ruin it for everyone else. I docked one star for the wrong order and their inability to deal with the cutter, but the last part is just my opinion for keeping things moving and more orderly.

Best iced coffee ever!!! I've tried regular, blueberry, and coconut...all fantastic. This place puts Starbucks to shame. Better quality, more quantity, lower price. Since it's the ONLY location in LA, you might have to wait a little bit until they start building more, but the wait is not long anymore. I'd go every day if I could.

    (5)
  • Albert Jr L.

Awesome staff!! Sucks I have to make a drive from San Fernando valley to hear but it's well worth it. Came here half hour before closing and the staff had me in and out with no hesitation. Good customer service will be back later than sooner.

  • Midnight B.

So I came here yesterday to a relatively short line than what I had seen before. 55 minutes later after realizing that I only wanted one doughnut but stood in line almost an hour I decided to get a half dozen. Among my favorites were the maple, coconut and Pumpkin. I think it was a maple glaze because I asked for maple pecan and they were out. The blueberry cake had an amazing consistency but the flavor was not for me. Their coffee is excellent. I think once all the hype settles down and hopefully the line gets shorter I will be visiting this location again.

  • Jim F.

Frozen donuts anyone? With every bite you can taste the generic, mega processed flavor of these extremely average donuts. They are made in a plant, frozen and shipped out to the stores where they can be thawed and heated in a small, Subway style, convection/microwave oven. The coffee is equally just as average. That's great you "grew up on this back in Hoboken", but ubiquity doesn't equal quality. I managed to get in and out today as there have been lines in their the last two weeks this place has been open because Americans love hype and box stores. For donuts, it's fine. You'll eat them and so will your co-workers. It's just there is really nothing amazing about this place. Still heading to DK's when I need something special and not frozen by the dozen. "Time to thaw the donuts"

It's not east coast but it's pretty close and I'll take it. If we want more dd out here we need to support stores like this one! Iced coconut xtra skim baby

    (4)
  • Jackie O.

There was a line but these guys move just as quick as they would in Starbucks. For the ones that leave bad reviews ...your not from the east cost to appreciate a place like this....I personally cant wait until they make other locations. :)

    (5)
  • Penny K.

Decent donuts. Brand spanking new spot and everyone is gonzo for it but truly it's merely average. I found the glazed donuts to be a tad on the dry side. DK's Donuts down the road on Santa Monica blvd blows this spot away. Skip the Dunkin' craze ala It's pre-craze competitor Kripsy Kreme and head to DK's

    (3)
  • Kimberly E.

Now that the lines have calmed down go get your iced coffee!!! I can see native LA people not liking the east coast vibe/-style of dunkin but go see for yourself. It's nothing fancy with your half cal, soy, latte with 3 pumps. It's simple, delicious coffee with east coast roots! Give it a chance! And don't miss out on a little donut or bagel while you are there!

Finally, Dunkin has moved out to LA! First I should say that I grew up on this stuff in Chicago and it's great to have the option again. Donuts were great and the munchkins were unbelievably good. Coffee was weak (I think I've acclimated to Starbucks coffee) but after it cooled off it was smooth and as I remember it. One less star for not having Chocolate frosted cake! I mean, come on. I grudgingly accept not Apple Fritters because it's the first franchise out here and they're busy enough as it is, BUT they have old fashioned's, they have double chocolate. NOW JUST PLEASE DIP THE OLD FASHIONED IN CHOCOLATE TO GET THE CHOCOLATE FROSTED CAKE DONUTS I REMEMBER BEFORE I MOVED OUT HERE.

The staff was great and handled the crowd well! So thrilled to have Dunkin in California!

Alright, so the line is sooooo crazy!!! People are in there like they are giving out free money!!! So I thought why not go check it out. I order a dozen donut holes, a dozen donuts, and two sausage egg and cheese croissant. Took about 10-15 minutes for my order to be completed. Not bad considering there was about 30ppl in there making line and waiting. Customer service.... Well the guy was trying. The donut holes and donuts tasted oookaayy... It's not like those small donut shops that make the dough from scratch for cheaper price. You can tell and taste there inventory comes frozen and all they do is throw it in the oven.. The sausage egg and cheese croissant, was tasteless. What can I expect I guess from a donut shop. They don't add anything on it, and again frozen inventory. Seriously you are better off getting a sausage egg and cheese mc muffin from MC Donald's. Well I'm never returning here again thats for sure, there's a Vons down the street that sell better tasting donuts, and have fresh coffee inside. Gave them two stars just because the people in there really try to get the things done. Other than that a 1 star is well deserved.

First of all, if you weren't already a Dunkin' Donuts fan, and you waited on line for 2 hours to try it, you were just setting yourself up for disappointment. It's a chain fast food place. Let's have some realistic expectations here. That's like New Yorkers waiting on line for hours when the Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf first opened up in NYC. Would you recommend waiting on line for 2 hours to get some Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf because it was so good? For the nostalgia, I've been to this Dunkin Donuts 3 times. The donuts definitely do not have the same texture as the east coast. Not sure if it's because of where they're coming from out here or if they're frozen or if it's the water... Anyway, I might pick up munchkins to share with friends, but that's probably it. The coffee was ok. I think the staff still needs to learn how to make a lot of it - I tried a hot pumpkin coffee and it was gross - way too much syrup or something. The hazelnut iced coffee was ok. The coffee coolata was pretty good. If I'm in the area and need a pick me up, I might stop here instead of the neighboring Starbucks. But I'm not making this a destination. I'll wait until I go back home to get the Dunkin Donuts I know and love.

I'm glad that there's now a chain here in California. Whenever a family member of mine heads to Vegas, I always ask for them to bring me a box of some Dunkin' Donuts. The only thing I didn't like about this area is the difficulty of finding a parking spot in their lot. We had to park on the street one time. Other than that, the place is clean and service was fast.

Being from Midwest. Chi town! Was excited when I saw one was open in SM. After a day at the beach. Ran and work out thought I would treat myself to some DD coffee and donuts. I arrived at 6:30pm. Very small line outside. Only waited total 30 mins to the register. I ordered 1/2 dozen and small coffee. Workers were friendly. My reason for 4 stars was my coffee was suppose to be hot. It was luke warm. I left so couldn't return it. I would say it was worth the wait. Will be back soon. :-)

Best hash browns i have ever had in my life. Ice cold chilled mocha drinks are better than what you get at starbucks and coffee bean and tea leaf. Best part of Santa Monica as well. I recommend this place to everyone.

    (5)
  • Rocio C.

FINALLY! We made it out to SM on a Saturday morning. We were cautious to not get there too early to beat the coffee crowds nor too late to beat the evening munchies crowds. Parked on the street (limited and sooo time constricted and meter maid is everywhere) but NBD just ran across the street a few times to refill the meter. Line was about 1:20 around 1130 am, but wasn't too bad as we were excited and under the shade of a big tree ( thank you Mr tree!) ordered 2 lg vanilla ice coffees, minute maid coolatta, peach ice tea, and 3 spicy sausage bfast sandwiches. Everything was to die!! Very different midwesty homey flavors and really pocket friendly. Got some donuts too, those were ok. Lol. Just go!

    (5)
  • Anton N.

All i can say is yummy. The donuts are great, my fav one is the rainbow sprinkles. Nice little dining area to sit and great friendly service. The donuts are so cheap that i was forced to buy 5 of them "here goes my diet". Definetly ill be back when i am around the area.

Best thing ever! As a jersey girl I was beyond thrilled D&D was finally opening in SoCal! I couldn't wait for the grand opening. Being from the east coast I had to come the first week it was open, and never have I waited that long for donuts and coffee but it was so worth it! The line was long in the sun (maybe a tent to shade people?) but moved faster than I thought it would. There was a lady outside taking large donut orders if you were getting a half dozen donuts or more. I am sure having her there help speed up the process. Once inside it took another 20 mins! The cashier was nice but slow which on day 2 of being open I can expect not knowing how the register works. The coffee, donuts and sandwich didn't disappoint. The coffee was just as I remember purely amazing, heaven in a cup. I will def be back but will wait until the hype dies down.

  • J P.

Worst hot chocolate I've ever had. Pretty much hot brown water. Also no selection of munchkins left. Staff was sarcastically rude. Overall not satisfied especially since we drove 30+minutes to get there. I'll probably stick with Krispy cream. At least they give you a free doughnut 99% of the time.

    (1)
  • Suzi O.

Their hazelnut swirl iced coffee is definitely a must try, but I don't anticipate coming back for seconds any time soon. Although my drink was tasty, there are better/stronger coffee shops located around Santa Monica. I didn't bother trying their donuts because of all the horrible reviews, and because I am and always will be a fan of DK's donuts.

    (3)
  • Nikki F.

So bad but soooo good. I go out of my way to come here and am never disappointed. Coffee is decent for the type of place. Staff always friendly.

I lived in Philly during my college years and Dunkin Donuts was really good! I used to always get the Boston Cream and Apple Crumb. It's no surprise that when I heard DD was coming to LA I was eager to return. Unfortunately they didn't carry the Boston Cream or Apple Crumb. The donuts weren't good at all. I've had grocery store donuts better than this. Dunkin Donuts is definitely an East Coast thing. Not sure what they're doing to the ingredients, but it just doesn't taste the same.

    (1)
  • Stephanie D.

Went there at 5am so we wouldn't have to fall in line. The sausage bagel with hashbrowns were good. I was also surprised they had pumpkin and blueberry donuts! And who else would ever miss their coffee? Taste like the eastcoast!

    (5)
  • Kyle S.

The service was average, nothing special really. I don't really understand all the hype about this place, (granted Dunkin is a somewhat new thing to us West Coast natives) the donuts are less than mediocre and if you don't eat them the same day they are made, you might as well toss them out because in the morning, they're always stale. The coffee is bold and flavorful which is the only real reason I find myself in a Dunkin. But after coming here once, I would never go out of my way to make a trip back. I must prefer Krispy's or a Mama & Pop shop donuts place over this one.

I really really wanted to make it on their grand opening day!! but I couldn't. So I went on the 3rd day in the morning around 10 am. I was expecting to see a long line but to my surprise it was very short. About 20 or so people standing in line. So i got in line all excited about drinking my favorite coffee that I have missed for so long. It was well worth the 1 hr wait. Anyone knows you go to Dunkin Donuts for their coffee! I absolutely love their breakfast menu too. I ordered the Big & Toasted sandwich, which has eggs, bacon, cheese & Texas Toast. Along with a large Ice Coffee and a half dozen donuts. I am so glad they are back in California! I hope to see more of them soon around my neck of the woods near Downtown LA!

    (5)
  • Allan O.

I like their donuts, my co-worker and I agreed they are not too sweet compared to Krispy Kreme or DK Donuts which are all in the same area. I just don't like the LONNGGG LINE! Don't be fooled, the line spills into the sidewalk especially in the morning. What I observed though is the inefficiency of the ordering process. There were two terminals for order takers and like 10 workers. My order taker took. five. freakin. minutes! All I wanted was a dozen donuts of 4 varieties. And the guy who prepared my box took another five minutes. Forty minutes of my precious life wasted on some damn comfort food. Oh well.... I dunno if I will be back. Krispy Kreme ain't too bad.

One of my favorite dunkin donuts, is a little expensive than regular donuts, but like I said. Taste amazing, coffee is great, over all just perfect, except the drive lame,

Finally the crazy line were over..so paid a visit on Oct 10 which is near my work place. Yea..donuts too cold..but still its DD. Coffee still is great! Little pricey for a dozen though..

    (4)
  • Daniel R.

YEs! The coffee is perfect! The donuts are Perfect! And the price is ridonculously cheap!!! The line moves very fast too!

    (5)

Not sure why everyone went nuts over this. I went with some friends when they first opened. The sandwiches and donuts were kind of gross.

    (2)
  • Kathryn N.

Yes a bit of the type has to to with it simply being here. That being said, the blueberry and chocolate glazed donuts are wonderful. Ditto for the burtercrunch. I'd also say I grew up in Boston and NO donut chains in LA make a decent blueberry muffin, period. The one DD does it FULL of blueberries and a cinnamon coffee cake top. Way better than the usual at other spots. If you have kids too the only variety of donut hole/munchkin you see at Wenchells etc is your basic glazed. DD has many munchkin varieties that allow little ones to partake in a wide range of donut experiences without the whole donut commitment.

    (4)
  • Lulu B.

We finally tried the coffee, old fashioned donut, & chocolate croissant for breakfast and did not like it at all. The croissant was stale and the coffee was nothing special. They asked if I wanted cream in my coffee, and I said yes. They put too much, so next time I will do it myself. I have $3.00 left on a gift card and will be giving it to someone else. Not coming back. Two thumbs down from a West Coast girl!

    (1)
  • PY P.

Not the same as we remember in the East Coast. Although we left East 11 years ago, we went back just 2 yrs ago. That was so good. Here in the West - Santa Monica location. It will do but the cruelest are smaller and not as flavorful. My mocha coolata was watered down and not tasty at all. So now it's just what-ever. Until we meet again in the East Coast. We will just settle for this or Krispy Kreme.

  • Lizzy S.

Only reason I'm not giving this place more stars is because the cashiers are not the greatest. The last two times I went they forgot to put something on my order causing me to wait EVEN LONGER on top of the hour I already waited in line. I realize that you guys are crazy busy right now, but your cashiers really need more training or assistance. Other than that, Dunkin' Donuts has the most amazing coffee ever. I'm so happy that they're finally here. I hope you guys open a location closer to where I live in Hollywood. :)

  • R S.

I went there three times. It was overcrowded couldn't get in. I went there this monday Drove 15 miles just to get donuts. When i asked for creme/custard filled donuts manager said they are all out. Are you kidding me ? How can you run out 5 hours before closing. No good management. Needs improvement. Very Disappointed.

  • Cejae R.

First of all why did they put a DD in SM?!! Really?!!! The most pretentious carb hating part of town?!!! Who was the genius behind that marketing decision?!! Secondly of course West coast gonna hate on an East coast thang. Duh!!! The coffee many be "overrated" to you SoCAL Peeps but so is your beloved Starbucks. Tim Hortons is the best coffee hands down but once again you SoCAL people will never know that as it's an East Coast/Canadian thing. Pity that.

    (5)
  • Marilyn R.

Donuts are always stale. No matter what time of day we stop by. Surprising considering the place is busy. Such a disappointment! Think we will stick with the local shops.

  • Chris M.

I am glad that we finally have a Dunkin Donuts here in LA! The donuts were soft & delicious, just the way they should be. The breakfast sandwich was average & you get shorted on the hash browns (not worth it for the breakfast sandwich). I will definitely be back for the donuts & coffee!

  • Kelcie R.

Was excited to learn that Dunkin was opening a location in LA. I am from Buffalo, NY and have been a Dunkin customer my whole life :) waited in line for about a half hour - a bit long but could have been worse considering the store just opened. Service was pretty slow, had to repeat my order a few times to the cashier... Dunkin is good but it's not GREAT. The donuts and baked goods aren't baked fresh at the store. There are definitely better places to get donuts. The coffee is good, cheaper than Starbucks which is a plus.

The donuts were delicious and everything I expected, and the coffee was strong and soo tasty! I'm not hugely critical of either donuts or coffee, so I was pleasantly satisfied with everything! :)

Line is still wrap around the corner extended to the next block on the weekend at 10am. This is my 2nd tries. First try was on the 5th around the same time line was til around the building to the parking lot. So not trying to waste my trip and went to krispy kreme right across the block instead, although i live 15 mins away from dunkin

  • Meg M.

Bostonian here. The dunks here is just like the east coast in quality, which to the Bostonian trained tongue means awesome. The downside of having only one location here, instead of side by side like on the east coast, means spending tons of time circling blocks looking for parking. But it's worth it. The best thing about this Dunks, and the reason for this review, is that the staff is outstanding. They are incredibly nice, hardworking and go out of their way to give the best customer service. I was really impressed by the staff and would come again and again. Out of nostalgia, I would normally knock off a star for the lack of Bostonian accent, but they're just too nice here.

dry donuts. I heard their coffee latte, frappacino hybrid like drinks are good but I'm lactose intolerant :/ the pumpkin flavored donut was the only decent one I tried but it's seasonal. Their coffee & k cups are pretty good though!

Sorry but ......I'm from Delaware! I grew up on DD. Not a coffee drinker, but love the donuts. Plus they're inexpensive. I want to give em 5 bc I just love them oh so much, but I've gotta go with a 4 because the variety and stuff at DK is better. They can't both be 5 stars. But I do love DD. Even this one, where they're made in Inglewood and transported to SaMo bc they just don't have the space to bake them there.

  • Zane J.

Myself and two other donut enthusiasts arrived promptly at 10 PM as we knew Dunkin closed at 11. We were all looking forward to purchasing a few dozen donuts. After waiting in line for 2 minutes we were suddenly told they were ending the line 2 people in front of us and wouldn't be able to purchase anything. At this point there were only 7 people in line ,yet they refused to serve us paying customers. It really wouldn't have taken much to end the line if they needed to after the last people in line. I am rarely so outraged by service at any establishment that I would leave a negative review, but this warranted zero stars, however I must give one. This place can say good bye to not only our patronage, but that of our friends and family as well.

My trusty staple from New York helps the nostalgia. While I've been here many times, a new menu is being implemented today. For the time being, all combos are gone. Everything is now a la cart. The cashier told me they were trying the new menu just at this location, so I don't know if this is a CA thing. Someone will have to verify at the Downey and Long Beach locations.

SUPER BUMMED! So I recently moved here from the East Coast. And I am Dunkin Donut fanatic!! There are only 3 locations other then this one in California and I have visited them all. I was well please and wish I lived closer to any of them... BUT THIS ONE HOWEVER...Really blew my expectations. It seemed over crowded with staff and I felt rushed. There was no friendly greeting...They asked to help the next person in line and just stood there waiting for you to place your order. I have a Dunkin Donut cup that gets me 99 cent refills. But he rang it up at 2.50. I was like, no it's 99 cents refills. And the manager came over to fix it and she came up with 1.35. And the coffee just wasn't good. FAIL...I felt like part of my heart had died. I sent it back and said it needed more cream and sugar. I also ordered the vanilla creme doughnut which seemed really small but tasty. And while I'm trying to pick up my order the employee looks at me and says, "Did you pay for that cup?" WHAT? I didn't steal the damn cup. I own my own cup and get 99 cent refills which you didn't give me today. Yes, it's my cup...They just hired a bunch of young people that don't care. I'd stop in again if I was in the area but no special trip.

After living on the east coast for a couple of years, I literally ran on Dunkin' Donuts. Now that I'm back in Los Angeles, I am ecstatic that DD has opened shop here! The donuts are great, but their iced coffee is amazing. Once you go DD, you'll never go back to ordering talls, grandes, and ventis. So glad it's in SoCal. Remember, "Friends don't let friends drink Starbucks."

  • S. A.

Pretty much BULLSHIT to make us wait in line for over a hour and only offer bullshit stale donut holes. If they run out if f@cking donuts why not just put a sidewalk sign out so that we don't wait an hour to get to the register to find out.... So f@cking stupid.

  • Terrence G.

If this is the east coasts example of good donuts I am lead to believe that the east coast likes crappy donuts. This is me and my wife's second trip. The first time we went it was right after dinner and we wanted a tasty treat so we got a vanilla chai and a pumpkin latte. The pumpkin latte is was AMAZING. The vanilla chai was bomb(so she says). However, the first time we were too full for donuts. Tonight we decided to grab another latte and chai and maybe experience these so called "amazing" donuts east coasters are raving about. We get there wait in a line OUTSIDE, for about 10 minutes, not too bad. Go inside wait for about 10 more minutes then we the drinks, yum, and donuts. A simple chocolate frosted and pumpkin pie donut. Oh yeah and had to try the donut holes or Munchkins as they are called. I get the holes sit down and take a bite. The toughest, gooiest, nastiest donut holes ever. We get home to try the rest and dodo who put the chocolate donut in the bag put it in upside down so all the chocolate was on the bag not the donut. The pumpkin pie donut was NOTHING special. If you like good coffee stop on in. They have some good coffee. However if you are jonesin for a good donut DK's is real close and sooooooo much better, as is almost any other donut shop with the plain moniker of "Donuts"

I am the happiest girl! Clicking my heals with this one! No more trips to Vegas for this craving!!! I am so stoked to have all of those amazing breakfast sandwiches and coffee. Thank u a million times.

Yes, I travelled far and early to get Dunkins in Santa Monica. I am a Dunkins nut and the donuts & coffee are just what I remember BUT service is terrible. No, it wasn't crowded yet at all. They gave me the wrong box of donuts and did not make my coffee as requested. Both coffees! I mean, I got them black and left assuming they were done. Awful. Truth is, I don't think they care at all. If this is what Dunkins is going to be like on the West Coast, then I would recommend staying East.

Love their donuts! Not disgustingly sweet like the other big brand, and doesn't make your fingers greasy like the ones made at mom and pop shops.

  • Ho Jeong P.

I really liked the grilled cheese and croisant sandwich they make. The donuts had nothing much to compare to other donuts shops, just good for trying new flavors. Price was okay and coffee were somewhat satisfying. I would reccomend if anyone is thinking of giving a try, but not so sure if they would actually love it. Just think of a new donut shop in the neighborhood to try out when you crave for donuts!!

Completely unprofessional, a shame to the entire donut industry and the fine name if Dunkin Donuts. They would not allow paying customers and donut aficionados such as myself and my colleagues entrance EVEN 1.5 hours BEFORE closing time. A pox on these charlatans, they do not deserve the fine title of frymen!

This morning the line for Dunkin Doughnuts in Santa Monica seemed reasonable. Just a few people out of the door. Not the insane line that's been forming from dawn til dusk everyday. Might as well give it a go. Bad idea. They really don't know how to operate volume at that store. Even when I got inside it took 30 minutes to place my order. It's not for lack of employees. They had both registers manned. They had 2 people at each station. They also had people who stood around admiring the line and sipping their drinks. At no time did anyone try to shorten the line by saying "Can I get an order started for you?" In the end I got my breakfast sandwiches, a box of munchkins, some doughnuts and iced coffee. Was it worth it for a taste of home? Fuck no. Fuck the line at Dunkin Doughnuts. Also the doughnuts there are 100% not fresh. Maybe I'll go back when people get over the hype.

Usually amazing tasting donuts. However, last night on the first night of Hannukah all of the Jelly Donuts were sold out. Very disappointed.,

These are the worst tasting donuts ever. Ice coffee was terrible. Hard to see donuts behind the employees all bustling about. Bring back winchells! ;)

My best friend and I went on the 3rd day since they opened and the line was still super long. We waited about 2 hours but it was well worth it getting some comforts that you can only find in the East Coast. I wish they had more locations, specifically one in Ventura County. Hopefully they expand soon!

The Dunkin Donuts back home in the east is more appealing than the one here in the west.

Finally a coffee joint that will understand, "I'll take a regular ice coffee." It has been two years since I had double Ds. I use to get it to go on my drive into work on the Mass Pike. My lips have sure missed you Ds. I'm sure when that cold ice coffee dances on my taste buds memories of my home in Boston will fill my head. Thanks for coming to Cali! I've missed you!!!

So I went ther the other day for the 2nd time since they opened and man, they need more training on how to fill their donuts. I got 2 filled donuts and all the filling sat to the far side of the donut, in which the filling pretty much amounted to that of no bigger than the size of my thumb nail - And the croissant donut was so tough, that it had me pulling with two hands to try and snap a bite off in my mouth. This disappointment has my sites still focused on their Krispy neighbor. As much as I love the donuts they roll out over on the east coast, so far this west side location has me hoping for their better future. The coffee still rocks though!

    (3)
  • Jenny K.

Waited in line FOREVER and it was totally not worth it! I recommend going to the Krispy Kreme across the street because they are 100x better with no line. My coffee was burnt and the donuts were dried out. I couldn't be more disappointed. This place is overly hyped and I have no idea why. Maybe it's better in the morning when everything is fresh, I went here at night.

Start time was 8:15. Got inside by 10:30 and out by 10:40. I was very excited for part of my childhood growing up was eating some Dunkin' Donuts. Got my dozen and they were all lacking flavor, even the regular glazed. I am a bit disappointed. The locally owned donut shops have better quality than these. I will say go out and support the local owned donut shops, don't get into this hype a lot. I will say that I won't be back to this place until next year or they make their donuts more flavorful. The line for me tonight was not worth it.

    (2)
  • Andrew A.

Worse customer service possible, what establishment is proud to serve day old stale doughnuts? I'd rather drive to Burbank and get a decent doughnut from Krispy Kreme than ever eat here again.

Oh dear. Not the Dunkin Donuts I hoped it would be. The wait - 1-1/2 hours - was actually FUN. So many nice people in line, etc. I bought a small box of the Donut Holes - they were delicious. Fresh, and a nice variety for a small price (around $6). The staff takes your order, but doesn't show you a decent menu, nor do you get any pricing AT ALL until you get to the cashier. BAD!! The staff is grossly overweight, disgustingly so, and one guy had really rotten teeth. I don't know about others, and I'm not terribly into body types usually, but every single one of the men who was apparently in a management capacity was singulary out of shape, looked unhealthy, and had huge beer bellies hanging over their belts. REALLY? This is Southern California, people - there are thousands of really healthy people to hire. Even some of the cashiers looked like they were an extra 200 pounds. There is NO WAY you can actually VIEW the inventory unless you are standing in front of the cashier. The tall frosted glass blocks everything. BAD DESIGN. The coffee? OH MY GOD. It was AWFUL. I'm a big connoiseur of Dunkin Donuts coffee and before it was available in local markets, and my family on the East Coast would send me the coffee as a gift. This coffee was NOT the good ol' Dunkin coffee - don't bother to order it. You will be REALLY disappointed. And tell me this - since when does plain ol' coffee have a CALORIE COUNT? They must be using processed instant coffee. YUK! It's worth one trip, but probably not worth many more.

Tried to go 10 minutes before they closed and an employee stood there and wouldn't unlock the door even though it wasn't 11pm (their posted closing time). And all the other employees working legitimately were laughing that we weren't allowed in. Not ok Dunkin donuts. You should never treat your customers like this. Wish I could give negative stars for how we were treated.

Disappointed DD lovin Chicagoan :-( At 7:30 am Coffee was good but wasn't sweetened much at all. Glaze donuts were smaller, dry, hard and the glaze was cold, slippery and gooey. I'll give em another try - after some time but ONLY when the line is less than an hour wait.

Got: Strawberry sprinkle Bavarian cream, Hash browns (good) Bagel with GLOBs of cream cheese Ranch (missing) chicken wrap French vanilla iced coffee Hazelnut iced coffee The doughnuts aren't even made there, not fresh like Krispy Kreme... Pretty darn stale tasting and stiff. I was disappointed because it wasn't what all the hype made it seem it was. There wasn't a line which was good but for some reason the workers were rushing us and all crowded blocking the selection of goods. When ordered the new ranch chicken wrap (without bacon)... The employee forgot the ranch too! He didn't even offer to remake it like all the other places would normally do. Instead I was given some ranch in a torn piece of a coffee cup.... Overall: Chicken wrap was blah tasting, very bland and nothing special. Hash Browns were good. Doughnuts were a HUGE let down. Iced coffee was good, too much sugar though--- and can cause heartburn for some reason. Bagel was prepd by them with EXCESSIVE cream cheese. Not really wanting to go back. Nothing special.

  • Jamie H.

Strictly service related. They are soooo slow. Standing inside still takes 20 min to reach the register. People are waiting 10 min for their coffee and donuts when they take your order outside! Ridiculous. And at any given time, 3 hot shot "opening team" members are standing outside doing absolutely nothing when you have a line wrapping around the store. Nice.

    (1)
  • Stephanie Z.

Wanted to see what all the hype was about...finally went today and was kind of disappointed not only with the donuts tasting quite stale but their coffee as well! Ordered the iced coffee hazelnut swirl and it was like drinking a teaspoon of straight sugar..gave my boyfriend and I a headache. Probably not most likely to return:(

    (2)
  • David C.

Well.. I have to say that it's better then the Dunkin Donuts I went to in Az. Though I've discovered I'm not a fan of the donuts so much as their drinks. Their donuts are more of the cakey type.

I ordered a chicken biscuit combo. I had to spit out my first bite in to the chicken biscuit because it was cold. The hash browns were tasty and seasoned but come in a quantity of 6 pieces. They quickly replaced my cold sandwich with a warm one. The blueberry cake donut was yummy. The place is a bit inefficient as far as picking up a drink in one place and picking up your food somewhere else. I'm sure over time things will improve. The chicken does not taste like Chick-Fil-A either so don't bother ordering it.

Yay that a dunkin donuts is in La! I grew up in Ny and this was my favorite place to get a donut treat bc of my favorite donut, a headlight. So I came to this location so excited to get that donut, but they don't carry them here. So disappointing.

I just stood in line for an hour. I'm from the east coast, I grew up on Dunkin, even worked there when I was a teenager. So an hour in line...sure, why not. Well, turns out the reason the line is so long is because there is one person running the register and taking/filling the orders..ONE. For both tasks. And he's as slow as slow can be and completely disinterested. If they had proper service, the line would move much faster. Makes me wonder if this is strategy to keep the line going to continue the buzz. if so, it's beyond insulting. It gets worse... I must have watched him serve order after order, fiddle with his hat, handle cash and credit cards, work the register and never change his glove (one glove). He grabbed every donut with the glove despite the fact that there were bakery tissues stocked by the donuts he should have been using to grab them. It was so GROSS. Then the final straw.. every donut I had was dry and stale and the coffee tasted like it had been sitting for way too long. I threw it all away. After all that, all of it is in the trash!!! Did I mention it was my birthday. Ugh I will probably not go there again, and that is sad. I have missed Dunkin Donuts so much, but this is just the not same establishment I grew up on. Once this buzz wears down, I don't know how they're going to compete with the competition out here. There are some amazing donuts places. From Stans, to SK, to the place at the 3rd street Farmers Market/Grove (I forget the name). Krispy Kreme. Even Winchells is better and well, that says it all. And then there's the fancy places making a whole new art of dounts. Good luck DD. You're going to need it. I won't be back. Beyond disappointed.

Came for the hazelnut coffee. I ordered the XL so it would last me until tomorrow. I'm having guests come over so I bought a dozen donuts as well. Can't beat the price. Will tell a friend and will be coming back. Sorry, I meant to post this a month ago. Just noticed it didn't.

Finally got here to check it out. I'm originally from Massachusetts and this was very disappointing. Mid-morning visit but the jelly donut was rather hard (=not fresh!) and the coffee was quite weak. Also had a chocolate glazed donut wihich was OK. The kids behind the counter are good workers BUT one gentleman decided to sweep and he was so aggresive that the dust was flying everywhere, including all over the donuts on the bottom few rows! Hello, manager?!? Can you teach your staff to sweep around food properly?!?

  • Stan L.

It breaks my heart, but this place is a complete mess. I'm a lifetime user who went to college in Boston with a literal daily habit. This was by far THE WORST service I've ever had. After waiting an hour at 8PM on a weekday night with a line out the door, I saw they only had 1 register open! The 'manager' said they were understaffed. Why would this brand new location that has literally had a line out the door since opening 2 weeks ago be understaffed?! But that's not even the problem. Some staff in particular are completely inept, quoting wrong prices, ringing up incorrect orders and acting as if the customers are bothering them! Some of the staff were very nice and working hard with a smile on their face, but 2 females in particular need to be fired. Never going back. Will gladly go to any other LA location like the new Downey store opening on Tues. Oh yeah, almost forgot. Last week I tried coming at 10:30 PM since they close at 11. Nope. They closed off the line at 10:15!!! Here's the kicker: I was in the parking lot talking with another frustrated customer who drove there from Cerritos, and as I was pulling out at 10:47, there was no line, but the doors were locked and the employees were cleaning up. What a joke.

You would think that there weren't 1000 other coffee places in California with the line in this Dunkin Donuts. Service is quick and you know what you're getting - tasty, fresh (but still processed) breakfast. Embrace it, love it, this is America. Just gooooo for it.

  • Queen Shari O.

Sup dawgs! Donuts are not as fresh and delicious as other places so don't hold your breath sista's! However, their coffee is king. I had their toasted cheese sandwich. I don't know if I was delusional and starved from a 2 hour wait but it was like I was transported to a land of unicorns and daffodils. Aaahhhhmmmmaaaaazzzziiiiinnnggg! I ate the donuts late at night before going to bed and had a nightmare that my friend and boyfriend were murdered by a serial killer. Looks like a fresh and clean coffee house to hang out but doesn't have the same vibe as some other cool cafe's in the neighbourhood as it's too commercialised! Prob wouldn't be back but if I was passing by I'd stroll in for a coffee to go.

Good, but not great, coffee, and dry, overcooked doughnuts. Nothing in the joint is worth standing in the long lines for, either.

1st of I have had Dunkin Donuts in Honduras when I was a kid. I tasted a donut from Dunkin Donuts in 2010 when i went to New York City. I can say that i am happy to see a Dunkin Donuts here in California. I dont have to worry about bringing a dozen and carry on the plane from Chicago. The breakfast os awesome and so is the coffee.

Went here for the first time of all the hype saying this place was the best and with all honesty at best it's just average do yourself a favor and go across the street and get yourself Krispy kremes donuts now those are the best !

The Hispanic lady who works the cash register was awesome and very friendly! It was our first time there and she gave us an awesome first time experience. My favorite was the blueberry donut!

  • James S.

parking is terrible here, and there should never be a line for dunkin donuts, as an east coaster, there was never a line when i lived in philly....food and drinks here are just okay. still doesnt taste the same as the east coast dunkin donuts. i would say to try it, but you should never wait in line for it.

    (3)
  • Michelle B.

Waited in line for about 35 minutes. I bought a regular, pumpkin, strawberry, vanilla glaze.... I was not impressed at all! The doughnuts were OK. The spicy sausage sandwich was good but I would not make a special trip out to get these. Disappointing :-/

  • William W.

I grew up on dunkin in Connecticut so I know and understand all the hype, and while it is worth it. Let me just give 2 tips to the owner: the design and flow of the store is a disaster. For such a small area you guys are about as inefficient as you could be. Get that ginormous drink fridge off the counter that blocks the view of the donuts. No matter where you stand it feels like I'm peering through and around a jenga tower to see the baked goods. Please learn the meaning of "light and sweet" one of the things I love about dunkin is they make your coffee for you but it sucks when they get it wrong. Light and sweet is an extra cream and extra sugar than a regular.

    (3)
  • Billy S.

Dunkin' reminds me of .... Phoenix. That's where i've had their coffee and donuts. Both are OK and it's a good place to grab a coffee. I like the uncomplicated menu and lack of coffee/health snobs, but I would never wait hours in line for it. Santa Monica must be full of East Coast transplants and wannabees. If you really miss it so much that you'd wait 3 hrs. in line, please move back !

    (3)
  • Chrys C.

Let me start off by mentioning... Yes Im from the east coast, Massachusetts to be exact and yes I am bias by the fact I grew up having D'D pretty much everyday. I love the menu items they offer. I love the coffee and hot chocolates. Delicious donuts. My only reason for 4 stars is the hour long wait in the line and the fact that the location is not exactly convenient from my place dtla. Can't wait until they spread like the plague (: lol

    (4)
  • Erin B.

Long wait, but that's to be expected for opening week. Many passers by smirked, took photos and asked those of us in line what the big deal was about DD. Ok, so the donuts might not be THE best, but for East Coast natives like myself, it's just nice to have a taste of home. I hope this place continues to do well even when the hype dies down.

    (5)
  • Jessica L.

Came here Saturday at 9:45pm. Granted, it's the first week of opening, but we BARELY made it through the doors when it closed. Side note: for those still in line past closing time, DD was generous that night and gave out pre-packed, dozen boxes of donuts. Even those of us who made it inside just at closing got free half dozen boxes of already packed, assorted donuts. So nice to show their appreciation for our support! The overall setup is two cashiers taking orders and two separate areas to wait for coffee or hot food. I think the overall lack of space decreased their efficiency. I'm not sure they'll be able to handle a lot of people. Hopefully when it's been around longer or other DD open it'll get easier. The donuts aren't out of this world and I personally prefer Krispy Kreme. The little hashbrowns are sooo amazing though! I got a side order of 6 and my husband told me I should have gotten 30 at least! But I mainly came to try the coffee. We got two iced coffees - one dark roast, one regular. I preferred the dark roast for a tiny bit more bitterness. Overall, they were better than Starbucks, but on par with McDonalds (translation: milky, not bitter/burnt, but no caffeine boost). We also ordered the Coffee Coolattas and they are wayyyyy too sweet for me. Glad I tried it but not sure I'll go back unless they open up more locations and it's more convenient to order.

    (3)
  • Yelps M.

whats the big deal? who cares about DD. If you love it so much move to the east coast, there's like a thousand of these everywhere. Gross growing up and still gross. Krispy Kreme is much much better plus they give you a free glaze donut when they're hot off the line.

I was really looking forward to trying the first Los Angeles branch of dunkin donuts. I live close by so I waited two weeks after the opening to finally go. When I got there, the line was short but I was quickly informed by a sales associate that the oven was broken (really?!) and there was only a couple donuts left. This was at 9 pm, still two hours until closing. I've heard from multiple people that the donuts served at this location are mediocre anyways. I highly suggest going to DK donuts down the street instead.

Yep, I still like Dunkin' Donuts! Started going in Texas and went to many over the years in NY and Jersey. Not sure why so many complain??? Oh I know why, people are just crazy and want something to complain about. So LA, don't listen to them, go and have fun at Dunkin' Donuts! We went tonight. Line moved quickly and crew was helpful and nice. I got a Dunkaccino cut in half with coffee to minimize the sweetness and a few Munchkins.

2 Visits totally different experiences: Visited Day #1 when corporate was there and although I waited 2.25 hours, the crew had their act together. They had menus at the front door to speed things along by people ordering ahead, management was fun, guys on register knew what they were doing. Worked like clockwork!! Worth the wait even though they were out of my fave donut. Cut to: Sunday Morning: 40 minutes from front door to register. No menus for people to preview ahead. Girl on register was training another girl, neither knew what they were doing and they both got my entire order wrong. Coffee creme and sugar, 'coffee black, right?', 10 muchkins, given 25, ordered 8 donuts, gave me 7 and not the right ones. Complete disaster, thus why people waited so long. Staff completely incompetent but worse was the manager. Already annoyed once I reached register but then after they got my order wrong multiple times I was even more annoyed. I told the manager they needed to get their shit together and she freaked out b/c I used the word shit. She then told me she doesn't want to get 'yelled' at on a Sunday morning (never yelled, just annoyed), ok I'll come back and be annoyed on Monday, how's that. Suggested menus in line and that they train their employees on the differences in the donuts BEFORE they put them on the floor. She responded 'they're trying'. Come on lady, train them late at night, train them before they hit the ground but really don't have people on the register on a busy Sunday the first week you open that haven't a clue! Manager was a complete waste of space! and WAY over her head. Corporate should have a presence the entire first week to make sure things are moving along. As much as I love my DD, I won't be back for some time!

I have never been to a Dunkin' Donuts before so I was really excited to come here and try it out. I came here all the way from the downtown area just to be disappointed. My mom wanted to try the donuts so I was going to buy some donuts and coffee for myself. I got the French Vanilla Swirl and it was so sweet I did not finish it. Later on at night while trying to sleep I got the worst heartburn due to the sweetness. When I ordered the donuts they told me they had ran out! Like what the hell! So many customers left because they came searching for donuts. Since there is a Krispy Kreme right across the street, I went there to buy my donuts since they always have donuts and I saw the same customers that left from Dunkin' at Krispy Kreme. Aren't they supposed to be stacked up on donuts an not be giving customers to the competition?

I'm not from the East Coast, but I love me some Dunkin' Donuts. Mostly for the coffee. I've been here twice. The first time we were super lucky because it was a weekday afternoon and we were able to sit and eat, so it was a pretty smooth trip. The SECOND time on the other hand was NUTS. It was Saturday before noon (I know, our bad) and everyone was there to get something. Although the store figured out how to do the donuts fast (while you're in line they ask you what donuts you want and they give it to you by the time you get to the register) but by the time you get to the register to order drinks, other food and pay... that's when the madness begins. Like any other establishment, by the time you get to the register, you order, and then you pay and wait for your order. A receipt is given to you with an order number on it, but I guess the order number only applies to the non-donut food, not the drinks. The drinks are made by employees at the coffee bar/station/whatever but it's a freakin' free for all. It's almost like an auction house and the employees are just shouting out drinks and hoping that one of them is yours. The line gets pretty long and pushes down back to the entrance when people are done paying. Luckily my BF and I decided to stay put and not push our way down to the front where everyone else was. Drinks would be shouted out, and people who ordered after the previous order would assume that that drink was theirs and grab that drink... THEN the people who had earlier orders would wonder why they were standing there for 10 minutes and ask about their drinks. There are not A LOT of drink options at DD, so it's easy to assume that your drink is that drink. A guy who was maybe 6 orders after us was able to get his drink first and I was like, "That's not even his, he just ordered." The guy heard me say this and was like, "I'm sorry is this yours?" He felt a bit embarrassed, but I reassured him it wasn't and it wasn't his fault because they're literally just making drinks as they come and you're supposed to just hope your drink is the next one they call out. My BF ordered a large iced tea and they didn't even make it so when we noticed that, the guy who got his order earlier, ended up being this weird liaison between the line and the staff because he was tall enough to look over the partition. It was a 20 minute ordeal, but we finally got our drinks! I was pretty peeved when we left, and then I took a sip of my coffee and ate a couple munchkins and realized why we drove all the way there in the first place. That's why it's a three star review, not a two star. It's not gourmet donuts (if you want that... go down the street to DK) but if you just like a decent donut and good coffee... this is where it's at. DD has plenty of time to mellow out, but for now... if you're not trying to "hope you get your order before the person who ordered after you" I would wait awhile before making a trek here. AND DD, GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER!!! Order numbers for the drinks! =) It will make life a lot easier for everyone involved!

Staff is great. However, I feel there are much better donut places close by. It is a good staple to have and good for a quick snack. I am happy it is here but was a little let down. Not worth all the hype.

Okay people let's sit down and have a cup of coffee and a donut. What we need to discuss is just that. First this is a new store and yes there are bound to be obstacles as they move forward and get their routine down. To expect them to be perfect as the doors open, well your expectations are just a little too high and remember this is not a new Neiman - Marcus store and if it was your point would be valid, but again if your eating here and complaining then I'm going to guess you don't shop at Neimans very often. What really is a contradiction is that some on here that we know are complaining about not only customer service but also the wait to get in and how they just left because it was just so slow and unorganized! Again, give them a chance to get it flowing, but what kills me is these same people are people that complain about GMO's and processed food and god forbid a microwave is used and your in line for a donut!! Seriously! It's a donut people and a pretty darn good one at that! For those of you like myself that were born here it's a nice welcome back and best wishes as we know the true California's and Los Angelenos appreciate you and for that once in a blue moon experience your my splurge. Give them a chance to pull it together as it is not as described. Yes a little slow and overwhelmed, but when you have crowds and a good product to sell it's going be that way in the beginning as it's expected and for die hard donut fans well worth it!

It's about time that there's a Dunkin Donuts on the West Coast. I crave their coffee and its just as amazing and perfect as I remember. You dont' have to pay $5 for a cup of burnt coffee like some other places. The donuts are awesome and so fresh, coffee is super delicious and always fresh. Store is clean, employees are great. It's all good at Dunkin Donuts. Welcome to the West Coast! I've missed you....

there donuts are very very average but I LOVE their iced coffees! particularly the pumpkin spice iced coffee! so cheap and so good! only $1.99 for a small and its basically the size of a grande at starbucks. BUT i came here at around 10:15am and there was a friggen line out the DOOR. you must be kidding me..... BUT YAH! this place definitely wins over mcdonalds iced coffees. SORRY RONALD MCDONALD.

Came here at 10 am on a Sunday. Waited about 20 mins. Much shorter wait time than anticipated. Got the donut holes 10 for 2.99. Pumpkin spice hot coffee was better than iced one. Peach black iced tea sweetened was good too.perfect flavor. Nice and patient workers. Was able to use my dunkin donuts dd app to pay. Redeemed offers on the app no problem-was told you can use as many of the offers as you want. Blueberry donut hole good. Better than chocolate, jelly fill, and glaze. Manager special Oreo donut a bit dry. Get a hot coffee to dip it in. Makes all the difference. They also have a 38 cent discount if you get 2 donuts and a medium hot coffee.

Maybe my memory's a little off, but I think the donuts aren't quite right. In particular, the donuts with fillings seem a little lacking. Seeing as I only moved to LA a couple months ago and have been eating DD on and off since I was a little kid, I tend to trust my memory, but I have been wrong before! The iced coffee is, as always, spectacular. Maybe too sweet for some, so you might want to ask for less sweetener, but I absolutely love the syrup they use. It's also great that they have decaf coffee at all hours, where as some places stop making decaf midway through the day (which makes no sense...). The crowds are still an issue, but they're starting to die down. It's worth noting that there is an outlet near the window and they don't push you out of the store once you're in, so don't worry if you want to come in and work :) Hopefully I can come back in a month when the crowds will have died down. Maybe the donuts will come across right then, too? We'll see.

no line outside but very short one inside. (Sunday 11am). coffee and donuts came up immediately but the wait for hot food was about 10 mins. friendly service. got a custom order all right. inside was chaotic but the staff kept walking around cleaning up and restocking the service station.

    (5)
  • Earl W.

Well at least the inside was nice. Other than that I may have fallen victim to a hype machine. For a guy like me who simply likes a good old fashioned glazed donut this place did not meet expectations. Not sure why the line was wrapped around the corner for the grand opening. Donut didn't taste bad, you could just tell there was something missing. DK donuts in Santa Monica had a better selection, and other mom and pop places definitely have better tasting donuts. Not a bad place, but also not very good.

Best time Tues or Thurs between 9-11a or 1-2p Wednesday, kids start late or get off early. If you live in SM you know that the schools are nearby. And people working in the surrounding areas come before, during lunch, and after work. No one really likes Tuesdays or Thursdays so it's simply better days to avoid the longer lines. I only waited for about 10-15min, indoors. The donuts were not as great as any other donut in the SM area. In fact, the next day they felt really hard and dry. I did enjoy the strawberry donut though. It wasn't too sweet and tasted good. The strawberry coolatta was so good and refreshing. We also tried some of their breakfast sandwiches and the best one was the croissant with sausage egg and cheese. It tasted fresh, and the croissant was delicious! Make sure to try the mini hash browns. Yes I would come back to try the remaining drinks/sandwiches. Maaaybe grab a donut. I know they just opened, so I get it, the staff is busy with the orders, but they should remember to clean up once in a while. Dirty customers leave their trash and crumbs all over the place. Since all employees are behind the counter, no one tends to the tables. The place is kind of small. I also think (as some have mentioned) that yes, they don't make the donuts there which is too bad :/ I saw a delivery truck with all the trays that morning.

As a big time eastcoast Dunkin fan, this place was a huge disappointment. Nothing like the east. We came in 45 before closing on a Saturday and all the workers were douchebags. I asked for my favorite flavors and they had ran out, which is understandable, but jeez don't give me an attitude when I ask you. And on top of that the donuts we did end up getting were stale and very dry, and the coffee was watered down. Absolute waste of time. Such a let down. Id rather wait until I visit the east coast again for the REAL DEAL.

    (1)
  • Diana S.

So, I went a few weeks ago. The wait was 40 minutes. The place was chaos. Sure, maybe they were mobbed, but they should have expected a crowd and should have been more prepared. No toilet paper. Totally a mess, napkins and and trash all over the floor.

  • Jane K.

If you don't want to wait too long come early, the craze has not died down! Was there at 6:30am on a Sunday and there were 10 people ahead of me in line...then went for run and drove past it around 8:00am and saw a huge line out the door wow!! Great coffee but that early in the morning I was expecting my donut to be warm, disappointed.

  • Jenna G.

Stopped at Dunkin donuts only because our favorite bakery la monarca wasn't opened yet. Also, I had been seeing the crazy line here for the last couple of weeks and wondered what could be so different about this Dunkin donuts compared to east coast ones. Quickly figured out it's definitely not the donuts. 6 people were working and it took 20 minutes to get 4 donuts and a bagel. They don't have long johns and hadn't even heard of them, had no orange juice. No chance would this Dunkin donuts survive boston assholes and New York screaming at them.

    (1)
  • Night H.

It's a donut! It's an ok donut! There are donuts all over this town, and you don't have to wait in line for them! In all seriousness, I'm sure the lines will die down soon, if they haven't already. I was fortunate that a co-worker picked these up (along with coffee) and brought them in to the office. The coffee is obviously famous, but given the number of really good coffee places around town, I can't imagine why anyone would want to go to this place. Philz, Funnel Mill, and Dogtown are all within a mile or two, and have better coffee. The donut? It's a donut! It's a decent donut, but not anything particularly special. Definitely not a wait-in-line kind of donut.

Growing up on the East Coast, I took the convenience of some awesome, cheap coffee for granted. When I came over to the California, I lost that touch that made the morning rushes oh so bearable. Thankfully they finally made it over to this site of the country and I'm happy to report that the donuts are fresh, the facility is new and awesome, the staffing are nice, respectful, and responsive, and the coffee is just as fresh and awesome as I remember it. Just expect a line as you get there, so if you're there for the morning cup of coffee as I am... get there before the crowd comes in because wait times can go from 15 minutes to a full hour (usually in the afternoon).

Came here last friday.. About 30 min wait time.. Then by the time we finally get to order,to our huge dismay we were not given the option to choose which donuts we want. They literally gave us Pre- boxed dozen donuts / munchkins!!! We ddnt even know what flavors we got until after we purchased it.iced coffee tasted terrible too..i know its new but wont be back soon!

I love the munchkins and their donuts! I mean I totally understand that the line is huge so I give my sympathy for the workers here. The people in line were arguing with others while I was waiting.... Honestly I loved my order, I just think that people use yelp to bash on a restaurant, so I decided to give in my opinion

Finally a "Dunks" in LA! The first time I went, about 2 weeks ago, on a Thursday at 11 am, there was a line out the door, so I just kept on driving. I tried again two days ago and was happy to be able to get inside immediately. Only problem was, I saw exactly why the line was so long. It wasn't just Dunkin' Donutes' popularity, but also, this place is SO SLOW. I was 4th in line and still took at least 15 minutes to get my order (2 iced coffees, 4 donuts.) Everything tasted great and I know this is LA but COME ON, SPEED IT UP! That's one of the great parts of DD back east, it's FAST...

    (3)
  • Eliza P.

Glory to God! Alleluia! FINALLY - some real coffee comes to LA!!! YAY! Can't wait to go. May there be one in every neighborhood all over LA! p.s. You can stop pretending you like Starbucks and get real now. :)

There are countless donut places in Southern California (and Santa Monica in particular) that have been here 30, 40 years or longer. There is absolutely no reason to come here. I live in New York and I can tell you that DD is considered by us to be on par with a vending machine. All you people who pass by some of the best donut shops in the country to come to this sorry chain restaurant are seriously missing out.

    (1)
  • Lori E.

Completely overrated - donuts were stale and forgettable. What I will remember is all the hype and the line.....both being ridiculous. Didn't try the coffee(s) based on the bad reviews here, but did purchase a bag to make at home - but it's the same as what's available in the markets already - The staff seemed a bit lost and confused. Won't be back any time soon.

  • Megan R.

I'm from the East and I was pleasantly surprised with how consistent they were with making their iced coffee and hot coffee! I stood in line for 2+ hours and got 1 Large Iced coffee and a medium hot coffee. Both were amazing!! Sometimes it's hit or miss on the east with how they make it but this place nailed it!! The donuts were super fresh and everyone was happy to be here! :)

After years of sending monthly emails to DD headquarters, essentially begging them to come to Southern California, I am ecstatic! Finally we have great coffee in Santa Monica. I almost forgot what real coffee was after years of the frou-frou syrupy crap you get at Staryucks - burnt, sugary, artificially-flavored, over-priced swill. I am a MA transplant so I'm used to having a DD on every other corner (right next to the mom-&-pop sub shops). Honestly, I will be at Dunkins as often as humanly possible. Now I can now ask for a "large regular" and be understood. Plus, the donuts aren't bad either (though I'm not really a donut kind of person). Thank you Santa Monica! Now I can grab a DD ice coffee right before I hit Sonny McLean's for a Red Sox game.

Couldn't be happier that dunkies finally came to CA. I can only hope that this is the first among many that will open up in the LA area. Did it take almost 2 hours to get in.... Yes. Did I get an insane parking ticket because parking in santa Monica sucks....yes. was it worth it. ..... good lordy yes. Gimme that dunkachino I don't care if it's over 100°

20 minute wait at 6 00 in the morning on a Saturday. Someone tell all these Angelenos who have never been to Dunkin Donuts but the donuts ain't that great and to stop ordering dozens at a time. It makes us wait longer in line for those of us who just want coffee. The sandwiches are pretty good in you wait in the secondary line after ordering them so its not so bad maximum wait time 5 minutes. I've heard lots of horror stories about long line lasting hours but if you go early enough it's not so bad. Coffee was 85 close to what I remember from the East Coast. It was a little bit darker than I remember. We'll see how things change after they've been here a little longer

This pains me to write because I love dunkin but it was pretty sad to see how this store was ran. I grew up on dunkin in Jersey and love the coffee and food. Today after waiting in line 2 hours, they forgot some of our order and gave me donuts I did not select in my dozen. It's sad to see such a great place have incompetent people working at the store. I would have given less stars but what I did receive from the store tasted delicious.

I got to DD this morning at 7:25am. There were about 30 people ahead of me, I was just outside the door. I was in and out in 15 minutes with my munchkins and donuts in hand. The staff was really friendly - the shift manager Avi helped me and she was great! The staff moved people through the line very quickly and although I didn't order anything hot, I noticed people were getting their breakfast sandwiches right away. The shelves were fully stocked (dare I say overflowing for some selections) and everything seemed to be in working order. Not sure if they just needed a few weeks to work out the kinks but I had a great experience today! Just make sure you get there early to avoid the long lines. -One Very Satisfied Relocated New Yorker

I really hope they get better at making the coffee, maybe DD should have east coast employees come out here and teach the ones here to show them how it's done. I feel like the DD's on the east coast are better. I really hope they up their coffee game soon! I love DD I used to have it everyday when I lived on the east coast. Donuts and hash browns are so good!

The only thing about this Dunkin' Donuts is that it can get really busy. But that's expected considering what it is! Went a few days ago and was not disappointed. Got my donuts, my iced coffee (which is awesome) and I was set for the day! The employee Anthony is the best! Cracked me up the whole time and made the short amount of time I was there a hoot!

    (4)
  • Alex C.

Dont even come. Ive gone three times and waited in line and never got a single donut because it was either a 2 hour wait (i saved an hour and a half time and apparently that wasnt enough) or they shit the line down early. They gave me nonsense excuses about how they were new and just figuring things out, but its bs. Dunkin donuts has been around forever. It doesnt take that long to put donuts in a box. Its a poorly run store thats so badly run, chances are you wont even get served at all. Not worth the frustration and poor service for a mediocre donut.

    (1)
  • Ashleigh L.

What a disappointment!!!:( I didn't mind waiting for an hour but really.. coffee was just waterdown. Donuts texture was horrible. Definitely tasted artifical flavor as soon as I took a bite. Sandwiches were ok but I would rather go to McDonalds. Man.. Krispy Kreme it is.

  • Yelp R.

Didn't meet my expectations. Waited in line for almost two hours. Bought the regular donuts and munchkins. But they were hard. You will never say they were fresh. I bought 3 boxes of 50 munchkins, to give to relatives. They just tried one or two bites and they were never amazed. Nothing special. Will not wait for tow hours to get their donuts.

I don't understand all the buzz about this place. Donuts are okay but not a very creative selection. Coffee not very impressive. Each time I go they are out of milk, especially low fat milk. Today the drink refrigerator was empty! At 2 pm!

    (2)
  • Kristijana O.

Slow and unorganized. Dunkon Donutas at airports are more organized than this place. I walked out of line twice since the staff looks confused and didnt care to get people out of there quickly. I know they are new come on while i was there a dozen people left. That is money out the door. Get it together your loosing customers ans money.

    (1)
  • Dan G.

Yeah, not so much! I grew up in St. Louis were we had DD everywhere so I was excited to have more of them opening up here. The service was slow, the counter was sticky, I actually saw a fly buzzing around inside the donut case. The people hanging around in there made it look like a casting call for a Fellini film. We have lots of good donut places in LA, this just isn't one of them.

  • Holli H.

Breakfast bagel sandwich - totally delicious. Hash browns - good lawrd I want a bucket of them to swim around in. Hot decaf coffee - HORRIBLE!! So bad I threw it away after 3 sips. Replaced it with coffee bean decaf - much better. Quite the disappointment, especially since they give it to you so damn hot that you can't actually drink it for the first 30 - 45 minutes. Kind of ridiculous if you ask me. Cold decaf coffee - not the same as what I used to have on the East Coast. Donuts - same as any other donut shop.

  • Kris J.

Uhh NO! Went on a Sunday around 4pm. Grabbed a dozen. Donuts were old, dry and lacking flavor. Way over-priced too! Do yourself a favor if you go here and cross the street, head east less than a block and go to Krispy Kreme Donuts.

It's a Dunkin'. It's hot chocolates on cold, wintery nights in Boston and coolatas on humid, summer days. It's the strawberry frosted donuts that I have not been able to find replicated in any other recipe at any other donut dive I have been to anywhere ever. It's nostalgia. My original plan was to wait it out for 4-6 months, let the novelty die down. But with a doctor's appointment dragging me out to Santa Monica, I decided fate was telling me to brave the line. It was a little before 10am on a Thursday, the shelves were well-stocked, and the staff was in a donut-boxing rhythm. Had a lovely chat with the kid working the door about how he ended up in the donut business. And thirty-five minutes,14 donuts, 50 munchkins, and a box of hot chocolate later my gracious coworkers confirmed that it was well worth the stop...and I got to eat a blueberry munchkin for the first time in years. Again, it's a Dunkin'. Yes, you will probably find better donuts at any number of other places in LA. Yes, their coffee and hot chocolate are like drinking pure, hot sugar. The hype is really only based on the fact that it's been such a long time coming and less on what they're selling. But for those of us who grew up on this stuff, it's hard not to appreciate the fact that it has finally arrived.

I grew up with DD back in NY. It was never a big deal there, and I was quite shocked it became such a "destination" here, but this is LA and they probably hired a PR firm or crowd sourced or who knows... If location can make or break a business, DD picked a good one; but not without competition. Krispy Kreme is one block to the east and Starbucks is one block to the west - NB, the KK on Euclid and Wilshire serves Coffee Bean coffees and teas, one of the few to still do so. Like the rest of LA, and all of So Cal is seems, I patiently waited for DD's opening, which went unannounced by the signage on the establishment during the last phases of construction and staff hiring; which was odd. Opening Labor Day weekend, the spectacles of crowds and block-long lines was newsworthy - holy schmoly, another donut shop opening lauded by "fans" camping out up to 24 hours in advance on the sidewalk (crazy talk if you're from the east coast and can't spit without hitting a DD). The irony of the camp-outers, most had never had DD before. The first week, and week two, and week three saw "sell out crowds" coming to Santa Monica in droves for the spectacle and reality that is DD in CA. At first the lines were day-round, but soon enough it was just peak hours that forced an hour-plus wait on the unsuspecting donut and coffee seeking Californian wishing to try this East Coast import - and they came from almost all over the state. There were even velvet ropes to contain the crowds and sidewalk menu boarded employees trying to get the patrons on line ready to order once a coveted spot on the inside-the-store line was theirs. The need for speed was evident. Let's speed this up, here is what you need to know about the Dunkin D -it's just another coffee and donut shop, people -coffee is nice, nothing new for east-coasters, but we all need another coffee option, right? -BTW, you could have bought DD coffee bagged in the supermarket for years here in LA - anyone still make coffee at home? -the donuts are average at best, and cost $10 a dozen -donuts are NOT made there, there are trucked in from (where exactly? this is the only DD in CA so far...) -creme and jelly filled munchkins are handy ;) -they do make oven fresh sammys, croissants, etc but you gotta wait for those -there is a paultry parking lot in back and metered/permitted street parking -there are 2 tables inside with seating for 4-6 people, depending on how cozy you want to be -no more velvet rope but a line can still be seen - pick the time of your visit poorly and you can be seen waiting on line too! In a nutshell: don't make a special trip, don't get your hopes up and don't get a parking ticket in the process. Welcome to LA, Dunkin Donuts

Sorely underwhelmed... Now one of the amazing upsides of having a new baby is that you are up at the crack of dawn... which means.. thats right! You are among the first in line to pick up DD! Im originally from the east coast, so I have long been awaiting the arrival of the DD and as soon as they opened, I couldn't wait to resume my addiction to their munchkin donuts! i went for the nostalgia but was completely let down when the hubby tasted his dunkacchino to find it tasted completely different... sad face! The munchkins were also just ok, nothing i would specifically wait in line for ever again... As fas as the staff, it is obvious they are still undergoing training because it took them a while to figure out how to even make a dunkacchino... something that the manager should have maybe ironed out in his staff BEFORE opening as Im sure this contributed to the wait time in the enormous line that quickly formed behind us. Overall, I agree with the other reviewers... mostly hype but glad I tried it out.

Kinda... kinda... overrated. Yeah, the oven broke and they ran out of stuff... but I had a donut and coffee... and it was ok. I think donuts from here depends on the water like NY Pizza. I've had DD on the East Coast and they were delicious. Here... they were ok. I have to try the Munchkins to really figure it out. But it could be the ingredients used to make it. The water here tastes differently from NY... so it could be that. Their coffee is SUPER sweet. I can handle sweet... but dayam. I did buy some coffee Kerig cups and those were delicious! Service: The employees here do not look happy here. Parking: They have their own parking. Overall: Mehhhh... I'll come again for the Munchkins.

Yay Dunkin Donuts! FINALLY! I know it's an east coast establishment and I'm sure some people will hate on it automatically for that reason.... But damn their coffee is far superior to Starbucks (where I once worked) and many other coffee joints. I also tried a regular bagel with veggie cream cheese the other day and it was pretty delicious as well (but still not as good as NY). My boyfriend always gets the veggie delight which I'm not a big fan of. It tastes a little flavorless to me. He also always orders their iced coffee which is also good.

When I first heard that Dunkin' Donuts was going to be in SoCal, I almost cried tears of joy (okay, a little bit of exaggeration there, but really though...I was so excited). Okay, their donuts are not the "best," but there is just something about them that just feels like home. The glazed and chocolate frosting donuts sell out the fastest, so make sure you go early! My favorite thing about Dunkin' Donuts is the iced coffee. It's pretty much like crack to me because it has the perfect amount of sweetness (I love my drinks really sweet). If you don't like the drinks too sweet, be sure to let them know! There was a line outside, but it was nothing too bad. It took about 10 minutes at most. Also, they have several fall options now. Yay for pumpkin lattes! haha

Love Dunkin' Donuts! Not from the east coast but have an east coast heart! Yes the line was about an hour long but I needed my coffee fix!! Best coffee ever!!!! The donuts are good but the coffee rules! I'm SO happy we finally got a Dunkin' here! Can't wait to order breakfast! The hash browns are so yummy!(: Another plus! Everyone working there were very nice!

I know this place is a chain. I know that LA is known for its diverse donut game. However. Since Dunkin Donuts retracted all its stores from California in 1985, I have LONG awaited their return -- all while watching Dunkins pop up in Spain and Dubai. Now that they are finally back in LA after 30 years... They get 4 stars on general principle. Plus, their coffee and hashbrowns are amazing.

I am a super-huge fan of Dunkin' Donuts! This morning was my 5th visit to this location in Santa Monica since its grand opening on 9/2. I live 30 miles away, so I've made it my Sunday ritual to go super early before the line starts to form. I got there around 6:30am, and there was already a 20 minute line or so. No big deal. I got my usual order of 4 coffee coolatas (I freeze the others and save them). We were not off to a great start when the cashier decided to add a hazlenut coolata to my order, when I ordered all regulars / original flavor. I corrected my order when I saw the guy making them, but the coffee coolatas he made tasted terrible! There is usually a woman w/ brown hair that makes them, but she wasn't there today. I told him that these are not how coolatas normally taste, and they were not good. He remade it for me 2x, but he just could not figure out how to make a coffee coolata. The ones he made were really bitter, and coolatas are typically sweet and have no bitterness to them at all. I was so bummed out that I just asked for a refund. Didn't seem like he was going to get it right anytime soon or ask anyone else to help him make them the correct way. With that, he took over another employees register while she was in mid-ring with another customer and she was just like "hey.... I was using that..." Anyway, he refunded me my money. Dunkin Donuts -- PLEASE train all of your staff on how to make coffee coolatas the right way and have the older woman (looked like a mgr) with brown hair teach everyone. Her coolatas are amazing. After you do that, please message me and we can try this again.

I love Dunkin Donuts! I am one of those annoying people who grew up on the east coast with Dunkin so going back was very nostalgic. People shouldn't be coming here expecting the quality they would get at a small donut shop. This is essentially a chain fast food joint. Adjust your expectations. I love their donuts, bagels, and coffee!! The line was not bad. In and out in 10 minutes.

    | "Can you buy me a dozen of this, and that" | or | "I heard you're in Vegas, can you bring back a couple dozen of this, I'll pay you when you get back" | or | "It's ok, get it without the ice, it'll taste just as good" | Those days are gone now that DD is in town, but damn.. have you seen the line??? Or actually stood there and waited for your turn to get in? Now it's about.. | "I saw your check in, can you buy me some *insert kind of donut here*" | Of course I'm always the nice friend who post on IG or check-in on FB with the caption.."You know, you want some", often times I'll ask my friends if they want something.. But with 1hr+ wait, the case is different now. Get your a$$ over here and experience the wait. Yeah, there's no easy way getting your double D fix. It's either you drive to Vegas (or Barstow or DTSD) or you wait in line. Wait! Maybe there is an easy way.. ask your military friend/family to get you inside the commissary in Camp Peddleton or better yet join the Marines. Haha ;) TL;DR Jelly filled, boston creme, and hazelnut iced coffee. 'Nuff said. Can't wait for the one in LB to open up!

I'm gonna keep this short and sweet. (Kinda, not really) Got there at 8pm and finally got to order at about 9:20pm, left at 9:30. Got a dozen assorted donuts which included the oreo ones, manager's special, french cruller, glazed, chocolate glazed and vanilla glazed. I also ordered hashbrowns and a decaf coffee. NONE of the aforementioned donut flavors stood out. Not even the oreo ones. There were also limited flavors to choose from. We were told they were out of the creme filled donuts and munchkins. Donuts were WAY TOO SWEET. WAY TOO DRY. Not worth the long wait! The best part was the hashbrowns and the coffee. LOVE THE FLAVOR OF THE TATERS! COFFEE WAS GREAT! Donuts were disappointing. My bf even said they're the worst donuts he's ever had and he'd rather buy those donuts they sell at Ralph's or Food 4 Less. They're just not soft like Krispy Kreme. Maybe because they weren't fresh. But still....!!!! Sorry people from the East Coast and my fellow Filipinos! Note that I used to eat Dunkin Donuts all the time in the Philippines like it was Winchell's..and those were the ones that I can really say "damn these are good". Overall, I suggest you going to Krispy Kreme. Or a regular donut shop. DD is just overly hyped. If I were to go back to dunkin donuts, it would probably be back to my home country or the east coast.

If you came here expecting bomb ass DONUTS and didn't focus on the COFFEE, then you're most likely a bandwagoner who jumped on the hype and probably knew next to nothing about why DD was so popular to begin with. Yeah, I said it. Did I stutter? Don't be mad. Let me show you the light. I'm not saying the donuts here are bad. They're good. They're just not what I (and a lot of other people) come here for. You know how there are specific establishments that are well known for their baked goods? For me personally, despite the name, DD has mostly been all about the coffee, and you will never be disappointed if that's what you come here for. I live on the west coast but have taken business trips to parts of the country where the dominant coffee chain was DD, I have family in NYC where I have at least two a day on my visits, and I'm counting down the days until DD hopefully opens up shop in NorCal where I'm from. THAT's how much I love it! Welcome to Cali, DD! Make your way up north!

On this second day in business I had to go and see what the fuss was all about. All my friends from the east coast went nuts in finding out about a DD in LA. I went there at 7:40 am. The line outside was about 20 people deep and allegedly about a 15 minute wait but it ended up being closer to a 1/2 hour. There was a woman working outside the door with a laminated picture of most of their donuts and coffee. She was nice and the pictures were helpful. Contrary to what others have said, no one takes your order outside. The manager passed out DD rewards cards and said you get a free cup of coffee by registering, which could be done on a smartphone, so I registered while waiting. The wait was another 10 minutes inside. The three young women working the bakery section seemed a little overwhelmed and tense. But they got my order right and were friendly albeit stressed out. One negative about check-out was that I didn't get a free cup of coffee or points for my purchase as promised. They didn't explain until after my order that I needed to put money on my card first. That sucked because I had ordered $40 worth of food for which I'll get no credit. My co-workers love me and I am now the most popular person in the office: Dozen Donuts ($9.49): Got 2 Oreo, 2 vanilla creme, 2 Boston creme, 2 "manager's special" blue frosted, a french cruller, a jelly, a strawberry frosted and a vanilla frosted. They were already out of glazed. How could they be out of their most popular donut with about 15 more hours of business to go today? At the office we cut each donut into quarters so we could sample a couple. I tasted the vanilla creme and the french cruller. The vanilla creme was delicious, The french cruller was good but ordinary. Just by looking at the rest I'm pretty convinced that the vanilla creme is the best overall, IMHO. Honestly the donuts are good but don't seem any better than Krispy Kreme. But for less than .80 each when you buy a dozen, these are very well-priced and worth it, if donuts are your thing or your craving. Munchkins: ($5.99 for 25, the least you can buy, according to menu.) These are donut holes. Six flavors to choose from. Got basically five of each flavor (glazed, jelly, powdered, maple and 2 pumpkin and 3 blueberry.) I had only a glazed one. It was good but not much more than a good donut hole. But how can you beat a donut hole for less than a quarter each??? Macaroons cost as much as $3.00 each and you don't get as much. Large iced coffee ($2.89): I can't tell how many ounces it was but it's huge - like, almost Big Gulp sized. It was good, not too sweet (compared to McDonald's iced coffee), and seemed to get even better as the ice melted. Because I am a wimp and like weak coffee. Hot coffee: I got a 100 oz. "Box O' Joe" ($15.99) for me and my co-workers because this is widely considered as the best thing at DD if not the best coffee anywhere. I'm no coffee connoisseur but I thought it was really good, not spectacular or much better than any other high quality coffee. I thought it was a bit on the strong side but two of my co-workers thought it was on the weak side. I really am a wimp. About the price: surprisingly, the straight-up coffee ($1.59 for a small) is not that much less expensive than the Starbucks a block away. Sausage egg croissant (3.69): Wanted to compare it with Jack n the Box's. I got it without cheese. This one is much bigger and better than Jack n the Box. I ate only about 1/3 and was stuffed: I'm skipping lunch and saving the rest for dinner. Thank god, because the sandwich has over 600 calories to throw on top of the donuts, hash browns and iced coffee.. Hash Browns (.79 for six pieces): Not as good as I thought they would be. I prefer McDonald's hash browns. Oh, they don't serve any milk. What kind of donut place doesn't serve milk? Bottom line is that I'll be back, but only with a 5-minute wait. And my ass can't afford to eat there more than a couple times a year.

This place wasn't what I expected at all. Cold ass donuts, mediocre coffee and terrible service. I was excited to try what the east coast was raving about, the name, donuts and coffee has a serious case of hype. Your better off going to a local donut shop near you. Save your gas and money buying this garbage. Crispycreme is way better that this crap. The coffee is what gives this place the two stars I put. I hope this is helpful because half of the reviews on here are compiled of bs and lies. -Victor

5 stars for being one of the few dunkin donuts in Cali. Can't wait til they come up to nor cal. Stopped here 3x on our weekend trip to LA. Very satisfying.

Ugh... I've been pining over this since it opened and I finally saw an acceptable line this AM around 7am. I still waited 30 minutes. The store itself is new and shiny and looks pretty clean. They have cute lounge chairs that would be nice if there weren't a line taking up the entire store. The coffee: this is what I missed from the Midwest! DD coffee has a distinct taste that is delicious and unique. This coffee I had today did not taste the same. The donuts: delicious but what donuts aren't!? I got 5 munchkins and loved the pumpkin ones. The service: eh... Not super friendly and not super quick. The app: download the app and put some money on it for a free medium drink. The parking sitch: I think just street parking... The location: amazing because it's in SM and very close to the hospital I work at I think I'll come back but this definitely wasn't what I was expecting after 3 years of not having DD. Maybe the quality will improve as the lines decrease...

I got in and bought a half dozen dry, flaky, and tasteless donuts. Seriously, I waited for over two hours for donuts only flavored with colored frosting and bland jelly filling. I threw it out after tasting it. I wouldn't even feed this to my dogs. The donuts are not made on site rather they're factory made and shipped to this location. Dunkin Donuts in Santa Monica tastes nothing like their franchises on the east coast. Serious quality control issues here. The only thing outstanding about this place was the coffee. I went to Krispy Kreme for a donut make up experience afterwards.

Really nice location and the prices are great! I got a latte which was very creamy and well made. I got a jelly donut which was amazing and a Lemon donut. Everything was very fresh and I really enjoyed the donut display.

Well, as a hard core, devoted Dunkin Donuts fan from New England, this location is just A-OK. Not great. Here's why: -No decent parking -Why is DD in the middle of Santa Monica, of all starting locations? GAH. -Service was not very happy looking; it wasn't even that crowded -Why would you sell those dinky towels as 'beach towels'? I would have bought one if it was a real beach towel, not some cheap thing I wouldn't even use after a shower -It's a very tight/narrow fit in there -EXTREMELY LOUD - tons of noise It was late at night so I only got a donut - the pumpkin spice one. It was delicious. But the overall experience, compared to all my DD experience, was lackluster. Yet I'll probably be back. Because.. you know...Dunkies...

the most happiest jersey girl living in southern California ever! I was beyond excited that there was a dunkin donuts opening. reading bad reviews makes me angry because this place is heaven haha! best iced coffee in the entire world, i am not a donut person, but being from the easy coast you know they are all about their coffee!!!! Boston creme donuts are amazing though. I can't wait for the long beach location to open up way closer to home. The 2.5 hour way on grand opening was BEYOND worth it. I'll be traveling to Santa Monica for my east coast cravings a lot! PS It's PUMPKIN SEASONNNNNN WOOOHOOOOOO

Dunkin donuts in SoCal?? The hype was real, but I had to get in on what the east coasters seem to always rave about. I expected a wait since it's only been 3 days since their opening and it actually wasn't too bad. Total wait time was an hour during 12pm, but the staff was pretty efficient when the order was actually placed. After about 45 mins of waiting outside, I made it inside the store and waited another 10 mins and ordered my half dozen, sausage croissant, hashbrowns and iced coffee which sadly I had to pay in full as only hot coffee can be added to a combo.. However the other side combos it can be added. Weird, but okay. They had my donuts ready by the time I paid, and handed my iced coffee right after. I asked for cream and sugar and when the cashier asked the girl making drinks, she seemed a bit uncertain but still answered that the drink had both. It did not. After making it to the sugar bar and making it snow on my iced coffee, my food was ready. The croissant was mediocre, I feel like I can get better at a mom and pop donut shop, not quite worth the price I paid. LOVED the hashbrowns though. They're seasoned with a hint of garlic and were quite crispy. The iced coffee was good, although I didn't really have a drinkgasm from it. I tried a glazed donut which I heard was the best, but wasn't impressed either.. Didn't taste very fresh and the texture was similar to that of stale bread. Just wasn't that soft, fluffy, melt in your mouth sugary goodness I was expecting. Overall, I'd advise everyone to come maybe when there's no line out the door. The workers were very courteous and patient. Quick service once you order. Their iced coffee and donuts were a bit disappointing, but I'll try their Coolatta next time to see if they can redeem themselves. Really wanted to love Dunkin Donuts, but I just couldn't.

The line was down the street this morning! Like many others, I'm thrilled to see Dunkin' Donuts has made its way West. Great donuts & the best iced coffee. The local Starbucks will take a hit. Welcome Dunkin!!!

My East Coast friends all thought I was crazy for wanting to line up outside Santa Monica's new Dunkin' Donuts. I argued that it was worth it, since I had never tried their coffee or their donuts before. They rolled their eyes at my dream of dunking a Dunkin' Donuts donut into my Dunkin' Donuts coffee. Anyway, long story short, I was pretty let down. I was cold after waiting an hour and a half, and had learned that they sold out of the majority of their donuts. The ones they had left were mediocre at best... and while their coffee was tasty, it wasn't anything super amazing that would make me drive all the way to Santa Monica (*cough* Philz). Their hash browns are an amazing deal, though. I will be coming back for those. Mmm. All dee carbs.

Finally made it. After several previous drive-by's since their opening, I was glad to not see a line around the block on this misty Saturday morning. It shows how many LA peeps are not from LA. We went a little crazy and ordered two breakfast sandwiches and some donut holes. Not 100% sure it was theirs, but we parked back and easily found a spot that didn't have a "reserved for someone else" sign on it. The place was clean and everything was great.

I've been to this location several times, and now that the pent up demand has died down and operations are getting sorted out, I'd say that the experience merits 4 stars. This is also having come back from a recent trip to New England, where I used to live for over 10 years, and I was actually *happy* to come to this Dunkin' Donuts versus my old haunts back East. Why 4 stars? Munchkins taste fresh. I think because they have them trucked in everyday at 4-5am, the doughnuts are fresh by the time I get them at 8-9am in the morning. Plus, occasionally, you get a freebie or two tossed in because they're working quickly to fill your order and giving away a couple of freebies isn't going to kill their margin. Muffins are moist and fresh. See above. Try the seasonal pumpkin muffin. The calorie bomb is worth it. Breakfast sandwiches are CHEAP and yummy and filling. An egg and cheese sandwich on a bagel is basic, delicious and can keep you going all day. Operations are getting better. I've noticed that they take your order, and EVERYTHING goes to the pick-up station with your order number labeled on the items (coffee and sandwiches)... no more wandering around, cluttering up the order area. The place doesn't (yet) leave your hair and clothes smelling like re-fried lard and burnt coffee all day. Ick. Forgot that unpleasant part of going to DD back East. Haven't tried the uber-sugary Coolatta and Dunkaccino (both of which I love), but I will be a regular here, so long as it's well before 9am when the PITA lack of Santa Monica parking kicks in.

Not worth the wait- 2.5 hrs. There was a line out the door and around the corner. The employee at the door was taking larger orders ahead of time to speed up the process. Placed an order for a dozen donuts and box of assorted of munchkins outside. Ordered a sandwich and coffee inside. FYI the assorted munchkins come with only 3-4 different random flavors. You cannot select flavors. Finally inside and close to the register. At first I was a little annoyed because it seemed like all the customers were taking forever. Got to the front, received my order and found out why everyone was taking so long. They screwed up all the preorders at the door. Good thing I opened it to take pics. Noticed other ppl coming back in and complaining about their orders too. Since they just opened I'll be a little more forgiving. Donuts were good. Nothing special. My favorite was the Boston cream. Coffee (the main reason we came) was great! Very sweet, just how I like it. Sandwich was good, again nothing special. Id probably come back when the line starts getting shorter.

Ah, good old reliable Dunkin' Donuts. If you've been to one, then you've been to them all. I only come here for the coffee and it's always the same. The only problem is their popularity so sometimes there is a small line. Not too many people.. i'd say about ten or so. I'll be back~!

A dream come true! Dunkin' Donuts in LA!!! Went last night and the line was crazy, waited almost 2 hrs to get in. But i like how organized the employees were. They were so nice cause they still let people in at the end of the line even though it was almost 12midnight. You can see they were under pressure, but they still managed to keep calm and take the customers' orders in a friendly and professional way. Other people driving by thought we were crazy for falling in line for a Dunkin' Donuts donut, but they just don't get it!!! One even yelled we were idiots!

Excited that my age-old friend from New England had finally arrived in Los Angeles County, I planned a day to stop in and catch up with my long lost friend and donut store, and to also enjoy some pretty darn wondrous donuts with some pretty great coffee. After seeing the world's largest Rubber Duck in San Pedro, I entered the address here into my GPS, and after a half hour in the car, I arrived at the corner of Wilshire and twelfth street. I knew I was at the right place, because besides the warm & comforting logo on the building above the doors, a long line of excited people started at the entrance, wrapped down the sidewalk, turned around the corner, and then continued even further down twelfth street. I drove around a bit looking for a parking spot, and eventually found one a few blocks away. I then made my way back to the address, and walked down to the end of the line. Over the next two hours, I made friends with the people ahead and behind me in line. We discussed our days, our thoughts, our donut hopes, and what we were doing after this. Twice, my friends visited me, only to give up not too long afterwards, and well before I even entered. (They're locals, they don't get it.) Just before I was let into the store, there was a guy outside. He was taking orders for 'take home donuts.' He read me his list, and I picked out a dozen to bring home to enjoy later on. He took orders from myself and my new line friends before he ran the order sheets inside to people who were preparing them. Then he let a batch of people in, and I was finally inside. Just a little while longer, and I was standing before the register. My take home donuts were already there waiting for me. I looked up at the expansive menu board. There was much more to work with than what I remembered from past visits of long ago. In addition to the masterful donuts, there were now delicious breakfast sandwiches, baked muffins, and bagels up there. They danced about on their high-tech video menu-boards, each one tempting my growling belly. I went with the basics, and ordered a pair of donuts, and a large raspberry iced coffee. I also got a twenty five dollar gift card for a portion of a buddy's wedding present. After hearing my total, I was curious, and asked what the average order was. Girl at register said 'about thirty to forty per order' Sheet guy that was outside chimed in, and said he had a one hundred seventy dollar order earlier in the day. Wow. Thirty to forty dollars, times a two hour line of people. That's pretty good. I got my donuts quickly, and after paying, sat down at an empty table by a window to enjoy my treats. I looked outside, at the line of people still waiting outside. It still seemed epically long, and ever so slowly moving forwards. I then began to peruse the internets with their wi-fi bubble. As I enjoyed my donuts, I was startled as a small toddler on the other side of the window pressed her face right up against the glass. She pointed at my donut and giggled as she pretended to eat it. I smiled back at her, shook my head, and rubbed my belly. It was indeed a quite tasty donut. She smiled and giggled some more before she lost interest and began playing with her sister. After eating and quite enjoying my donuts and coffee, I stood up, and navigated my way through the inside portion of the line towards the door. I exited the store, praised the people at the head of the line for their perseverance, and reassured them it would be totally worth it. Cute window toddler and her mom thanked me for the entertainment before I walked across the street to find my car. I'm very glad Dunkin Donuts is back in my life. However that being said, I think I'll wait a month or two to return. While the line was crazy long, it was totally worth it. Welcome to Los Angeles Dunkin Donuts! Looks like your going to do just fine here.

I'm from the east coast and this store is embarrassing. When it opened they would call out the name of the drink not an order number or name. It was a Free-For-All! The layout is bad and to be honest the donuts aren't fresh. Unlike the stores I grew up with the Santa Monica Store doesn't have a bakery on premise so they have to truck them over from a bakery. The setup of the counter is bad and it clogs up at the counter when it's busy. Boo! After a couple weeks went by they finally started calling out coffee orders by order number. But what a cluster mess in the beginning. This is the FLAGSHIP store in SANTA MONICA they should have put more thought int the entire franchise. What;s good enough back east in stores, airports, and gas station mini marts isn't good enough. Shame on your President Of Dunkin Donuts. Shame on you. Think outside the box and gear your future franchises for Southern California and for crying out loud put my donuts under a heat lamp so their at least warm! DSPP!

If I overlooked the fact that I stood in line for an hour, Dunkin' Donuts isn't a bad place to get your sugar fix. I did appreciate that at the front of the line, there was a small display of what donuts the place had, and someone taking orders, to speed up the line a bit. The donuts were okay; better than a lot of other places I have been. I did like the pumpkin spice donut, giving some extra oopf for the fall season. The blueberry cake donut isn't up to par with California Donuts. I will come back to Dunkin', but I rather wait for more branches to open up, because as a person who has never been to the East Coast, my only thought is that all my East Coast friends are laughing at me for waiting an hour, while they can just get their sugar rush and go in less than five minutes. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like that all the donuts are the same price, 99 cents.

Ordered a toasted bagel, they obviously don't know what toasted means, and the fact that they're donuts aren't even in any sort of glass display case and just displayed open air is gross. Won't be back, yum yum donuts is definitely number one.

I'm a native SoCal boy and have never had a Dunkin Donut, although I have heard about it for years from my east coast friends. I stopped by this location this morning on my way home from the eye doctor. While standing in line I watched a woman lose it over something (I'm not sure what), and asked for her money back. Once I got to the counter I kind of understood why. The person who took my request was very nice. He explained that I could select any donuts I wanted except for two special donuts. Another person took my specific donut order, so the cashier could help the next person. Both of these individuals were very nice and helpful. I selected 5 of the 6 donuts and while deciding on my last doughnut someone walked up in street clothes (he wasn't in Dunkin Donuts gear). I had selected a chocolate bar as one of my last items and the guy in street clothes pointed to the donut and scolded the employee stating this wasn't included. He then told me I had to pick something else since this was a special doughnut. There are plenty of doughnut places in LA and I won't go back to this location. This guy needs to learn some management skills.

I still don't see what all the hype was about. I think the one think I liked about the place the fact that it doesn't look like every other crappy donut shop and the prices were awesome. I wouldn't stand in line for them or make an effort to get to this place but if I happen to crave a donut and I see this place I'd go in. I don't drink coffee so I can't even comment on that. people say it is good but it is just water with flavoring.

I love Dunkin! Reminded me when I was a kid and my parents would take me to one of their stores. Great location, friendly staff, and the last time I came here the line wasn't that long. The munchkin (mini donuts) are my fave!

Yes, I was raised in the East Coast and now this location is the closest to me. I don't care what the haters say. Give me my Dunkin! Blueberry coffee, egg-sausage-cheese-croissant, and the oh-so sugary donuts. I'll be back. Dear Dunkin - open a location in the South Bay. El Segundo seems like a good location, close to offices and LAX.

Overrated. Lousy donuts, average coffee. Dunking plays better on the east coast, where it is cold and people aren't as image conscious. Mediocrity won't cut it in the west. They need friendlier cashiers, too.

I went on a Saturday afternoon about a little over a month after they opened, and parking was easy on Wilshire (used quarters) and the line started inside. So it wasn't crazy at all. I ordered 25 munchkins which cost about 6$, 3 other donuts, and a medium iced coffee for 2.50$. The total was 11$ and a few cents. Not bad. The munchkins tasted great to me. Reminded me when I ate Dunkin back at Jersey. The iced coffee was iced coffee. Nothing special to me about it. Only thing I didn't like was the employees weren't that friendly. Usually new businesses have very welcoming and happy employees, but the employees when I came seemed tired. Not a bad experience though.

Ok so it's National Donut Day today and we went to this Dunkin location to get our free donut (with a purchase of any beverage!). Service definitely improved. The line was longer today than when I first visited during their opening weekend but it was quicker! Based on my previous experience, I was anticipating that we'll be in line for more than 30 minutes (because, hey, free donut) but whoa we were in and out of there in just under 10 minutes. And yes, thank god, their oven is up and running. We got our drinks really fast too! It was my first time to try their dunkaccino and it was pretty good. Bumping my rating to 4 stars! See, I'm so easy to please ;)

Like everyone else I was excited about this location opening up (not excited enough to wait 2 hours on opening day, what's wrong with you people?) I walked here from the promenade and got some donut holes and EW. They were so incredibly dry! Like eating little cotton balls. I got three kinds so and tried them all because I thought maybe the other one was just a bad batch-NOPE. I mean I guess you guys have good coffee but after that experience I don't know if I really even want to try a regular donut now..

I have always liked Dunkin Donuts. For a long time they didn't have one in Santa Monica, but on the East Coast I've heard they are common. I first tried Dunkin Donuts when I lived in Tokyo. There were Dunkin Donuts and Mr. Donuts all over town. My. Donuts product was good, but Dunkin Donuts was the only place that would refill your coffee, and plus, one of the girls that worked there (Sunshine City Dunkin Donuts near IkeBukuro) was kind of sweet on my roommate, so he liked to go there. So going to Dunkin Donuts brings all kinds of old memories back for me. Their donuts aren't that much different than any other place - Winchells or some of the independent places - but they do make a solid donut. I'm in favor of donuts. If you like them, then you will like Dunkin Donuts.

Despite the name, I think most people know the coffee is the star of the show. Sweet, flavored coffee to be specific. There is some magical formula for the optimal level of sugar and cream they apply to their coffee -- always come out just right. There's a number of "flavor shots" including hazelnut, coconut, vanilla, almond, etc. The new pumpkin donut is filled with pumpkin pie filling, glazed on top with streusel -- must try! The others are fairly standard but always high quality. For now, don't come here unless you can tolerate a 15 minute wait in the morning. Everyone seems to want to linger up front, and the cashiers look absolutely exhausted from the opening.

Donuts I grew up across the globe where I came from. Even though they might not have the other flavors I like from the dunkin here in the US, I still love this donuts. Dunkin donuts feels like home and no wonder people come back here. I'm happy that they finally have one here in LA/ Santa Monica Area... The staff are nice and courteous. Donuts are very abundant all day.. They still have long lines so try to come by around 2-3pm...

And finally .....Being that I am from the East Coast I really miss Dunkin' Donuts. Having a Dunkin' Donuts here is awesome. The only thing I need to be careful of now is watching my weight so I better hit the gym on a daily basis in order for me to continue to go and stuff my face. The lines in the morning are long so expect to wait at least 15 to 20 minutes. My recommendations or I should say my favorites are the big n toasted for breakfast and as far as donuts are concerned I love the Boston cream as well as the blueberry doughnut and most recent coconut. See all your helpers in line

I've been to the Santa Monica DD a couple times now. The first time was a couple weeks after they opened, and boy were there a lot of people. The line went out the door and around the corner. It took at least 40 minutes to order and around 20 minutes after the order to get the food (since I also ordered a breakfast sandwich). In case you didn't know, DD has some pretty solid breakfast sandwiches and their hash browns are pretty bomb too, even though they're known for donuts and coffee. I also got a coolata, which was really tasty. Pretty much diabetes in a cup, but delicious nonetheless. And it tasted like the coolatas back home (Boston). More importantly, I ordered a dozen donuts and 50 munchkins. In total I spent over $30 at DD but to be fair I'd been craving Dunkin' since I moved out to LA. There's something really off about the donuts and munchkins here. I thought it might just be due to this DD being new and dealing with lots of customers, but I came back several months later and while there were no longer any lines, the donuts/munchkins still taste really stale. I have no idea what they're doing wrong, because I see them putting "fresh" donuts out and they still taste stale and dry. These are not the same DD donuts I grew up with and fell in love with. Still, it's the closest DD to me and Dunkin' reminds me of home so I'll probably be back.

I've had Dunkin Donuts previously and was a huge fan so imagine my excitement when I found out it was making their way to Santa Monica. Highly highly disappointed! I would give this place zero stars but the workers were all very sweet, patient and accommodating. Unfortunately the food, donuts and coffee didn't meet any of the expectations. The food was very generic and was served with the middle of it cold. We asked for it to be reheated but just the fact that it was frozen took the "freshness" out of the experience. The donuts were just okay, not the melt in your mouth kind that I've previously had in the East Coast and even the Dunkin Donuts in Las Vegas! It tasted like any ordinary grocery store donut, not bad but not special either. The coffee was also disappointing. All the sugar sunk to the bottom and the syrup was separated from the coffee. Even after stirring it ferociously, the taste wasn't there. We waited 2 hours and it just wasn't worth it. I will definitely check back in when the lines start to die down but the only positive thing about this were the workers!

I have visited this location several times since the opening of the shop on the first day. Frankly, the lines for the first few weeks put me off with +45 minute wait times. Since then, it has settled down to a reasonable time for waiting (5 to 10 minutes). The doughnuts are consistent with what you would expect on the east coast with them being very good and the coffee is consistent with the Dunkin flavor as well. I'd say for all of those who are Dunkin fans, this shop will not disappoint. If you haven't tried it, then you should stop by and give it a try at least once. Personally I like these better than Krispy Kreme! Interestingly enough, the Krispy Kreme down the street has been empty when Dunkin has had people waiting for doughnuts.

Omgggg! I can't believe I finally found one here! Dunking donuts is AMAAAAZING! There's nothing better than their munchkins! Why does this place have poor reviews? California people are so odd. If it's not organic no one likes it! I use to have Dunkin all the time in Texas and when I visited the east coast. It's the BEST donuts ever! Get with it people!!!

suxxxxxxxxx!!!!!!!! so overrated!!!!warning do not attempt to eat these donuts!!!like any other big chain corporate conglomerate they have found a way to make their donuts seem very enticing through advertising and perception through social media but these donuts are no better than day old bread. do yourself a favor support your local small pastry shop and bakery do not go out of your way to get donuts from Dunkin' Donuts here in Santa Monica they actually serve me cold donuts I bought a half a dozen only two out of the six had been made fresh that day the other four were cold because of that been taken out of the refrigerator gross!!!!

Love the coffee, which deserves more than 5 stars!!! If you haven't tried their hazelnut coffee, you haven't lived. The donuts are pretty good too, but also noticeably heavy. And the line is waaaaaaaaay too long these days. Hopefully that will normalize as folks' curiosities are satisfied and as the staff becomes more experienced. It warms my heart to see a Dunkin Donuts location surrounded by California palm trees!

I grew up in Boston and this place is strictly for nostalgic East Coasters. The reason why it took Dunkin Donuts so long to expand to the West Coast is because it's crap. If you grew up on McDonald's, you may crave it as comfort food, but when you already have In'n Out, you recognize McDonald's for what it is - total shite. Same applies with Dunkin Donuts... The donuts are crap and always have been. If you want to know what a really good donut should taste like, I hate to say it but, try Mister Donut in Japan. After that, you'll realize that almost nobody makes good donuts in the US anymore unless they are gourmet or homemade. The coffee is really why this place is so insanely popular back East. But unless you grew up on it, again, you won't appreciate why people queue endlessly for glorified Folgers...

Today was the 2nd day of it's grand opening and I got a dozen assorted donuts and a medium hot coffee... I always get their coffee when I'm traveling to the East Coast or to Las Vegas so this was a welcome treat. Don't need to travel just to get Dunkin Donuts anymore. Now to the review, I thought the coffee was a little watered down compared to what I'm used to. It's tasted creamier and sweeter before in the past. However, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt because they just opened and are probably perfecting their recipe. I had one of the donuts, not sure what it's called, but it's the one with a white filling and frosting on top with crumbs that look like smashed Oreos. That was a very good donut! Not sure it's good for my diet though, but who cares. Will probably be going back and using my DDperks card.

As a NY transplant I'm thrilled to have the first of hopefully many Dunkins in LA. My biggest worry was service. On the East Coast you are in and out of Dunkin in 3 minutes flat. I'm glad to say this place didn't disappoint! There were about 5 people in front of us in line, but it took less than a minute to get served. By the time we were done paying, our order was ready. If this were Starbucks, it would have taken us at least 10 minutes.

Yummy! Omg! I am even more excited here than seeing a DD in Mexico City! Did Whitey Bulger bring this official Double D shop here! ??? Omg! Too bad his hometown Quincy, MA donut shop, the very first one, eva, opened up their billionth store in his hiding place SM AFTER he got arrested. I think that would have made Whitey a very happy man. Wicked sad. : ( But, sooooo exciting for me ! I can now drive a mere six hours south to my relatives in SM and partake with them in savoring nostalgic GMO powder-covered frosting filled donuts, once known as "angels", in the "southshore" of Boston. My gawd, it would be great if they could go back to the original angel name as this is indeed the city of angels.

They were out of Boston Creme when I went. If you're out, why don't you make more? That's the only donut I wanted and they didn't have it. I talked to other friends that went and they seemed to have the same problem. If its a popular choice, why not have it available? :(

I was beyond excited when I found out a DD was opening in LA! I am a SoCal native but wife is from the East Coast so I had fallen in love with Dunkin Donuts iced vanilla coffee the first I went with her back east to visit her family, and I pretty much OD on them every time we visit. I even hunted down the one in Vegas since that had been the closest one until now and have gone there whenever in Vegas....needless to say, I was ecstatic when this one opened. Well, unfortunately my enthusiasm and excitement have been transformed to utter disappointment *sad face*. The iced vanilla coffee was HORRIBLE. I even sent it back and asked for a new one...2nd time around was no better. I don't know what they're doing behind the counter when they brew this but it is most definitely not the traditional east coast way! Sadly disappointed. AND the chocolate frosted donut was super stale/old. Overall, completely underwhelmed. They need to get some east coast staff in there and teach these LA kids the right way to brew the coffee!

He worst donuts I had in the morning. Not only were they cold, the blueberry tasted dry like it was a day old donut that they tried to sell. I'll stick to my neighborhood donut shop.

Very poorly organized order process. When we order hazelnut latte with only little bit sugar, and turned out it was way too sweet. We asked to remake it again, and it was still exactly the same sweet as the previous one. Talked to three employees there and no one can just simply tell us what exactly amount of sugar they put in the coffee?! I don't see dounkin dount's position in west coast. Are they going to compete with Starbucks? Then they should know how to handle the customer better like Starbucks and be more organized and train their employee with little bit more passion and knowledge of their own products. If they wanna compete with lower end coffee or cafe such as McDonald, I am not sure if their price is lower enough.

Being from the midwest, Dunkin' Donuts was a staple there. I was so excited to see a Dunkin' Donuts finally showed up in the L.A. area. The store itself was clean and neat and cozy. It was REALLY busy, yet all of the associates there were still smiling and helpful - and it didn't take too long. Even though the initial coffee drink I ordered tasted kind of funky, they didn't hestitate to immediately replace it with another coffee that tasted great! The donuts were also fresh and tasty. :) I have to say, I was most amused by the t-shirts they were selling that said "Friends don't let friends drink Starbucks" - I might just go back and purchase one, because they have definitely surpassed Starbucks in their coffee quality as of late. Street parking if you can find it - but as with everywhere in L.A. - parking is a $%#^*! So, I'm not faulting them for that - go get a large coffee and a munchkin - you won't regret it!

I will make it simple as it's a donut shop so they should serve coffee and donuts with ease. I grew up with DD, make a point to visit when I go back to NY, it's a thing I do, is it the best etc...? It's a donut shop not BOA or CUT or 21 etc.. But this "Experience" has left me Baffled. I was driving by with my GF, small line so said "Why Not" 10 minutes in line and the line isnt moving, "it's a donut shop right? In, Order and Out right?" No one coming out but tables etc... empty. 20 minutes later I am at the front of line Outside and see inside a very short line, weird. I finally get inside and see what looks to be people having trouble at the counter, there are no less than 10 people behind the counter and they all look lost, SERIOUSLY LOST, MOUTHS OPEN STARRING AT THE CEILING LOST. I got to the cashier finally, 4 times I order my "2 coffees and 2 Donuts", long story short, worst run place I have ever been, people where actually stupid behind the counter, the manager wasn't any better in that she came up twice to clear the register so they could re enter my difficult order of 2 coffees and 2 donuts.. Got outside, the coffee was dull and the donuts appeared stale and terrible so we didn't finish them. It was 2pm. I have no doubt if the people working there are the same who make the products this is why it was terrible. I will keep my visits for when I go back home thank you. And for all you "If you complain you don't know DD" idiots around here you should really find a hobby.

Called and recorded message stated that hours of operation is from 5am to 11pm. Got there around 10:15pm today and they said they are not taking any more people in. There's only about 10 people in line.

Coffee is great (had the pumpkin ice coffee), donuts are great. Service was just ok - but they're probably still working on that just like any new place. I think people are extra hard on their reviews because it was so hyped up and they're expecting magic...but it's a chain everyone...it's like adding a Starbucks where there wasn't one. And we've got pretty good donut places here as any established city would. I like the donuts (but it's kind of hard to mess up a donut right?) but most - I prefer the coffee to all other places and that's why I run on Dunkin.

First time to visit this branch on Wilshire. No lines early in the morning. That's good news. People still come in though to get their favorite donuts and the munchkins! First and foremost impression: I thought I'm on a different branch besides the Wilshire store because of the crew composition, which is impressive. Very professional and diverse staff. Also, they have most of the donuts that I wanted. My constructive criticism: 1. Devaughn, one of the efficient DD staff, can use a little relaxation. A simple gesture of "SMILE" goes a long way. He seems to be so "uptight" and acting like its just business as usual. I have observed most staff and seen them "smile"; it's a simple act that expresses accommodation and openness when dealing with customers. 2. Grade "A" for the store. I will just make a quick comment about this. As I sat in the store eating my breakfast, I have also observed that a donut was dropped on the floor accidentally by one of the staff. The same staff picked up the donut from the floor, threw in the trash and start serving fresh donuts again, with the "SAME" gloves. Does this happen at frequents times? Is this issue of food handling only involving donuts? How about the breakfast combo they just served me? Food handling class should be re-visited with this kind of occurrence. 3. Traffic control: by 9 am, the line starts forming in the store. However, the sign where it says " Please Wait Here" is quite confusing. Most people, including myself, have gone to the other side of the line. There is clearly no better way to distinguish which way the arrow points: is it on the right or the left? It is productive time wasted when staff repeatedly tell customers that the line starts on the other side of the sign; and create customer's confusion and frustration. One suggestion is to make sticker markings (similar on some stores and Kaiser facilities) on the floor to better direct store traffic. Nevertheless, the store and staff are efficient and doesn't disappoint, but of course minus the glove (food handling) issue.

Don't get what the big deal is about this place. Nothing special. Another donut shop, really. Donuts are sitting on the self, coffee is just coffee. Krispy Kream much much better: fresh donuts, just donuts. That's my thing.

This was not what I was hoping for. As someone from the East Coast I was excited to have the Dunkin Donuts here in LA. What a disappointment. I ordered a large iced coffee extra extra. The staff did not know what that was and asked me to tell them how to make it, since they have the creamer in the grocery stores here I assumed it would be known for the staff of the stores. When I got the coffee it was not extra extra, or even extra. It was a plain iced coffee. I ordered food and they "forgot to make it". I waited another 10 minutes for the sandwich and it was just ok.. I guess for the real deal I will wait until my annual trip back home to Rhode Island.

First time reviewing any place on Yelp but I was so compelled to do it for this bad place. I guess the hype is no longer because there was no line weekday around 4:30pm. The tall guy at the register was rude and was not willing to help. He also short changed me when i got my change back. I was supposed to get 10.51 back but he only gave me back 10. I know that its only .51 cents but it was my change no matter what!! The donuts taste artificial, dry and small in size. I will never pour any more money to that donut shop that left a bad taste in my mouth. No thank you.

I would rate this a negative 1 star, but there isn't an option for that so I have them a 1 star. Service is bad. People at the counter didn't know how to accommodate the customers and it wasn't even busy when I got there (530am).. I can just imagine how it is when it's busier in the day..AND they didn't even make an effort to find out how I can use my DD Perks card. I was just told "Sorry we don't know how to use your dd perks from your phone". WTF?! Donuts were old! Coffee was bad. I will never ever buy from the location again. You are better off buying donuts at your regular neighborhood donut shop.

I go to this Dunkin quite often. I've had some very pleasant experiences, but this morning was not one of them. I get the same thing every time I go. I know how it is supposed to taste. I'm not trying to be that obnoxious person in line who corrects the person making them. I know they are busy, however I did just pay 60 cents for some caramel, so I'd just like to get what I paid for before I am on my way. When I went back up to the counter to ask for a few pumps of caramel, the young man didn't even look at me or acknowledge me, just took my cup. Obviously he was annoyed...Stirred my cup and didn't add anything. Why it was such a big deal for me to just get 2 more pumps of something so minuscule is sort of silly to me. Had to go up one more time to actually get what I want. Not the best customer service I have experienced.

As an East coaster, I know what a Coolatta is and what it should look like. I was kind of disappointed. The first time it came out it was about 3 shades too dark. Then I got it remade and it was the right color but it didn't taste the way it should. So, unless you wanna have an underwhelming coffee Coolatta, you may not wanna order one until they figure out how to make them correctly. And it's kind of sad because I wanted it to be good but it just wasn't.

An amazing opening and closing day! I arrived at the inaugural Dunkin' Donuts of Santa Monica at 9:00pm, hoping that the madness of opening morning had subsided. To our surprise, was mistaken. The line stretched down 12th street towards Arizona! Needless to say, my small group of 3 remained in line waiting for our opportunity to make it in the store before closing - 11pm. At 10:26pm, we had made it up to the windows of the shop, drooling at the sight of our beloved coffee and donuts. It was at this point the "Donut Bouncer" made an announcement... I couldn't hear the first few sentences, but as he made his way down the seemingly never ending line of die-hard Dunkins, he bellowed something to the extent of, "Everyone in line up to the trees might make it in before 11pm; everyone past the trees will most likely not make it in at all, but you're welcome to wait it out and see what happens." Being in the "might make it in" group, we decided to wait it out - we had already waited this long, what was another 31 minutes on a Tuesday night? The minutes ticked by and the closer we got to the front the of line, the more anxious we were getting. At 10:55pm, 2 groups away from the entrance, and eyes on the prize, we heard a bit of commotion behind us - low and behold, it was the owner, his business partner, and a blonde lady (the wife?) handing out half dozen donuts to everyone who had remained in line, thanking them for their support and apologizing to everyone individually that they were sorry that everyone might not make it in. When they came up me and my peeps, they handed each of us a box of donuts, thanked US for our patience, asked how long we had waited in line, and said if we make it in, the box of free donuts that they just gave us was an added bonus for the wait. What an amazing gesture, and amazingly - WE MADE IT IN! We were the second to last group that experienced the historical Dunkin' Donuts of Santa Monica opening day, and was it ever an amazing one! Super friendly staff, clean, and efficient! Will be back for more of America's Favorite Coffee, and chocolate frosted deliciousness!

I love me some Dunkin's!! Couldn't wait to have a sip sip on the west coast but boy was I disappointed! Two months after the grand opening and there was still a line that wrapped around the corner. I'm not going to fault them for being busy that has nothing to do with the poor review. There is no excuse for the filthy customer area, the tables strewn with napkins, straws and coffee spatterings where person after person sat and left more trash on top of the last. I was aghast at how many workers were serving customers and taking money but none of them keeping the store clean. Waiting in line i saw a display of 'friends don't let friends but Starbucks' tee shirts proudly for sale (classless negative advertising) by then I was close enough to the counter to see their kitchen area and the floors were caked with dark black grime and looked like they hadn't been washed in the two months since they opened. If it weren't my 'brand' I have been long awaiting I would have left just then. I ordered a medium iced coffee and medium hot both with cream and sugar and a variety of munchkins and donuts and hightailed it through the dense crowd. The treats were so fresh and yummy!! And now for the coffees... What? Since when did they no longer put sugar in DD coffee for you? The iced coffee was so watered down and no sugar?? My hot coffee was not the way I had ordered it. If Dunkin's is going to make me put the sugar in why wouldn't the cashier tell me when I ordered it with sugar? argh!! Oh by the way I used to work at Dunkin's in MA so I know what's up. This west coast expansion spinoff of what used to be Dunkin Donuts misses the hole... :(

The taste of Dunkin donuts doughnuts normally brings back great memories of my childhood but today's experience ruined everything. Honestly, I didn't mind the long line at 8 am because we have anticipated it. There was a crew by the entrance to make sure it is not over crowded inside the store. There was a delivery truck unloading so we were so excited to get fresh dougnuts! I ordered 2 doz assorted doughnuts, 1st doz was handed to me right away and I moved over to the pick up counter to wait for the 2nd one. I was busy checking my phone when I realized several minutes have passed and a lot of people in the line after me has been served already but my 2nd box still isn't there. Apparently, someone forgot my order. I made a follow up and one of the crews right away prepared it for me and apologized for what happened. When I got home, I opened the box, the frostings/toppings were just all over the place because some of the doughnuts were placed on the box upside down. I got even more upset after I bite into it. It look and taste like they are leftovers from yesterday. Its nothing like something you will get from Dunkin, more like its been sitting on your table for few days. It's not worth it and I don't think I ever want to come back.

Waited in line for over 2 hours today for half dozen donuts and 2 coffees...it was worth every minute! I am originally from NJ and have waited 13 years for DD to come back to So Cal. As a social phenomenon, standing in line and chatting about ourselves and our donut expectations, was grand. However, the donuts are dreadful. The opening night, i passed this off as an overwhelmed demand that outstripped their supply (which incidentally are produced offsite). So, i went back a second time a few days later. Still dreadful. All told, the 4 of us have sampled 6 different varieties. Even the Krispy Kreme across the street is a bit better. If you want a decent donut, try DK on Santa Monica blvd. If you want a great donut, go up to Yale and Santa Monica and buy at Yale Donuts. Don't point your finger at me; i grew up in Philly and had my fair share of good Dunkin Donuts.

I grew up on dunkin donuts and was so unbelievably excited when I saw them moving in close by. then they opened and I was really excited to go there so I went and there is a line down the street and I say to myself its just donuts so forget it. The next day line and again and again for 2 months. I really cant believe that the people of this city can get so turned up for perhaps the most unhealthy of treats known to man. Whats even more disturbing was when I actually went in and ordered a bunch of donuts a breakfast sandwich and a coffee. Well this was nothing like I remembered it? Donuts horrible, breakfast sandwich pretty bad and extra greasy, and even the coffee sucked. Its possible I was just used to eating crap back in the day, it kind of hard to say or maybe in mind I am thinking it can be the water here effecting everything horribly. I just dont know, but I will not be returning to figure it out. DK's is right down the street and they are so much better its just beyond my comprehension, maybe something are just better off in their original spots.

This place sucks! Horrible service, bad coffee (literally, the cream had spoiled) and bad donuts. Dunkin' Donuts is my first stop every time I land in Boston, but this store should be ashamed to call itself a Dunkin' Donuts. My favorite thing about Dunkin' Donuts is getting a hazelnut coffee with the cream and sugar already mixed in. I was so excited to order one today, after weeks of waiting for the line around the corner to die down. Except after a sip of odd-tasting coffee, I opened my cup to find that the cream had gone bad and was chunky on the face of the coffee. I asked for a replacement, but the person behind the counter filled it to the brim so that, when I opened it to check the cream, it ended up spilling all over. Stop for a cup of coffee and ruin your cream-colored church dress with bad coffee - boo! I got a chocolate spinkled donut too and it was horrible. I couldn't finish it. Even my sugar-crazed toddler wouldn't eat it. Seriously, walk the extra block to Krispy Kreme and have a real donut and a Coffee Bean coffee - that's where the lines should be. My husband felt the same way about his coffee and donut and sadly, after all that anticipation, we have sworn off the place forever. Feel sorry for all the people who waited in the long lines for this.

Was excited when I heard that Dunkin Donuts is finally coming to LA, but I knew there would be big crowds here at Dunkin Donuts. After wanting to avoid the long lines, I waited and I came here on Thursday morning the second week after it opened. I didn't mind waiting in a long line, but I was concerned about finding parking since I think it would be hard since there are a lot of people in line, and after reading reviews from here, I knew it would be hard since you can't park on the block it's on since a permit is required. I first drove in, and saw a line up to the orange pole outside, I went into the parking lot in the back, and a car pulled out, but it was parking only for one of the business next door. Then at the end of the lot, I saw some spaces, but there are also for I believe Melisse so didn't want to risk it and park there. Then I looked for parking in the residential area north of Wilshire, and it was still all permit. Then I saw a couple of spaces along 12th north of Wilshire, but it was only 20 minutes. So I then drove a block away, and parked in the public parking on Euclid, and just put in 2 hours just in case since I heard the lines can take 2-3 hours. I walked a block to the Dunkin Donuts, and the line started in that orange pole outside. I waited for about 7-10 minutes to get inside, there was a guy at the door telling people when they can go in, and that guy was actually the one that opens new branches, and normally sees long lines when they open in new places. Once inside, it took about another 5-10 minutes to get to the register, and I was looking forward to ordering their promotional items the Arnold Palmer Coolata, and the Cookie Dough Iced Coffee, which I had when I went to DD when I was at Chicago/Indiana last July-August, so having the Cookie Dough Iced Coffee would remind me of that trip I took. Unfortunately, I first asked for the Arnold Palmer Coolata, and the cashier said they don't have it, I then ask for the Cookie Dough Iced Coffee, and said they only had that during summer. So one star knocked off since they didn't have those drinks anymore, which was a big bummer. So I went ahead and just ordered an Iced Coffee with Vanilla flavor, and I ordered an order of hash browns which I heard was good from other reviews, which came in an order of 6, which was good, I wish I ordered 2 orders of that. I then ordered a half dozen of donuts which was 2 blue glazed sprinkled donuts which was the managers special, which I kept on seeing in pictures here, 1 vanilla glazed, 1 maple glazed, 1 strawberry glazed, and 1 marble glazed which tasted pretty good. I then sat down and ate a piece of each donut flavor I had, and finished my Iced Coffee which was kind of not sweet, you had to shake it and mix it to get the sweetness which was kind of disappointing, and finished my order of hash browns. Since I still had lots of time in my parking space, I walked into the shoe store in that same block where I parked to kill some time, and the worker in that store saw I was holding my half dozen box of Dunkin Donuts, and asked me how long it took, and I just said 15-20 minutes, he said over the weekend some people came in and said the line took 2-3 hours. Overall it was a good experience, I will be back when I'm in Santa Monica, and can't wait for more to open, the only downside was they didn't have the Cookie Dough Iced Coffee, and the Arnold Palmer Coolata I wanted to try.

I was so excited to see a spot open up here in Santa Monica, especially after hearing so many great things about the famous iced coffee! I don't drink coffee much but i wanted to see what all the fuss was about, and it was pretty good! They have a variety of flavor options (I personally prefer the french vanilla), and paired with one of their delicious donuts makes a nice treat! I would also recommend the bacon, egg, & cheese breakfast sandwich on an english muffin--it's not as heavy as their other sandwiches but it definitely makes a quick, yummy breakfast if you're on the go!

This is for the dude who said anyone who leaves less than 5 stars is not from the east coast. Well, I'm here to tell you that I am from NY and I grew up in S. Florida( mostly transplanted NY'ers). When I was growing up, it was " time to make the donuts". Now its frying or baking pre-prepared dough. I came in here just for my free any size drink for joining the DD rewards program. I went with a sugar free vanilla iced coffee. Be prepared, when you order sugar free, they do NOT use a sugar substitute, its just a vanilla flavor. You'll need lots of splenda/stevia or whatever your sugar substitute of choice is. I would not order a donut here with Krispy Kreme only a couple blocks away.

Amazing coffee, just like the east coast. Certainly, people will have complaints because they are vegan/healthy/annoying/whiners. Honestly dunkin donuts doesn't need your business. You can take your favorite laptop or book to starbucks or somewhere that caters to your "library needs". I may just hangout here to meet other people from Massachusetts, with no books, no laptop and headphones, only an allstar french vanilla for $2.09.

Welcome to the WEST Coast DD! My first experience at DD was in NYC years ago. I remembered how SWEET it was then and didn't care for them much then. Thought to give it a try and I don't remember them being too sweet from what I remembered. We were out and about early this morning and picked up some donuts from down the street (not gunna mention name) for my daughter's Key Club Fundraiser. While we were leaving that location,we decided to stop by DD. They weren't crazy busy but enough people to keep everyone busy! It doesn't matter what flavor your get. ALL the donuts has it's unique flavor and texture. In our family, we like to share. We always half the donuts in fours so that we get to taste all the flavors and this is what we shared. Bluberry Cake - This really does remind me of a cake without the frosting. I enjoyed the creamy, blueberry flavor. It was slightly glazed that didn't over power the flavor of the donut. This next one reminds me of Homer, Strawberry Frosted Donut. First of all, it's so pretty eat. It's strawberry flavored glaze on top with sprinkles. Very pink vibrant color dounut that just makes you want to dance. I enjoyed the strawberry flavor in the glaze. The Bavarian Kreme & Vanilla Kreme similar except the Vanilla was villed with a lighter cream. The Bavarian cream is a light vanilla pudding in the center and dusted with confectioners sugar. I thought it was going to be rich and dense but instead light and fluffy. Very easy to eat. Oreo Cheesecake Square Donut was decadent. Very interesting & delightful. Definitely richer. Really taste like dessert. Very light and fluffy just like the Bavarian Kreme. The donut is square, cheesecake frosted on top and sprinkled with finely crushed Oreo cookies on top. Filled with more cream cheese. I also had a small coffee with cream & sugar to help wash it down! So next time you go to a bakery or donut shop with your loved ones, remember to share! I hope to see DD in the valley in the future!

As someone coming from the east coast where Dunkin Donuts is prevalent, there's an excessive ammount of excitement for their donuts and this new Santa Monica location. But really it's not as great as the west coast trendsetters claim it to be. Thought it would be cute to try the heart donuts around Valentines... Big Mistake if wanting to eat them. Mostly were dry, and the chocolate hearts had a filling that tasted similar to olives.. but at least it looks pretty.

Second time here, finally nice to have DD on the West Coast. It is a more west coast DD in design in the interior plus a few added items on the menu that I feel are geared to the west coast. I ordered my favorite both times now: egg white with cheese on a croissant. The first time it lacked the warm melt in your mouth feeling that I enjoyed very much but the second time I ordered it, it was warm, soft and amazing. This place has free wifi and a few tables for seating plus two single seaters. You can sit here with your laptop to get work done but outlets are scarce. This place definitely caters to the grab and go coffee guy.

I have been traveling to and from the East Coast my entire life and was raised around Dunkin Donuts basically my entire life. What Yum Yum and/or Krispy Kreme is to the West Coast, DD is to the East Coast BUT wayyyyyyy better!!! So stoked to see they have finally made the transition out West. I even remember their old school commercial with the catchphrase 'time to make the donuts.' I observed the madness online of when this place opened and knew there was no chance I was going to subject myself to that so I waited it out and planned my visit perfectly. I have been fasting for my physical blood work and drove directly from the Doctor to Santa Monica to score me some frosted goodness. I arrived at this location shortly after 9:30 in the morning and was able to secure metered parking directly in front=) I exited my car and walked directly into an overwhelming aroma of pleasure. They say a lot of memories are triggered by smell and that is exactly what happened to me. The last time I had DD was several years ago but I still knew my order by hearts (1 chocolate crème filled & 1 chocolate honey glazed). I ordered a decaffeinated coffee with soy, I love how they make the coffee for you and always add the appropriate amount of sugar/milk/soy/almond milk as requested. This Dunkin Donuts also offers a wide range of menu options other than just donuts to breakfast sandwiches, bagels w/ vegetable cream cheese which is simply amazing to specialty coffees and blended drinks. At the time of my visit I found the staff to be friendly, fast with service, all with smiles and great attitudes. Most importantly I found this DD to be spotless even the bathroom because you know I always look=) Without question the next time I get the vibe for a donut I will be driving to Santa Monica to get my donut freak on!!! This location is located on a pretty busy corner in Santa Monica and offers plenty of window tables, great for people watching.

I don't drink coffee - however, I'm actually posting a review of this location, because after a few visits, mainly because one of my friends grew up in Chicago - and grew up on Dunkin' Donuts - I'm commenting on the service. Each time (2), I had a smoothie. They're fine. Not so great I'd drive to Santa Monica just for it - but decent enough that I ordered it again, when I was here the other day. Each time though (2), service was pretty bad. This time around - after paying for my order, the cashier just looks at me while I'm waiting for my change like I'm the one with an problem. When I ask for my change and show her my receipt, it was as if I was burdening her, due to her mistake. No apology. Just all attitude as she did what she had to do to complete the transaction. Then, I went over to the pick up counter and I asked for the restroom key code and let the employee there know, that I would be going to wash my hands. I had barely finished and closed the door and I can hear the employee yelling out my number. Again, with attitude. Probably because I didn't respond immediately. Now, I understand she sees lots of people and probably didn't remember me letting her know I'd be right back - so that's not my issue. My issue is the attitude of not just one, but two of the employees I encountered there. The attitude from the second person was sharp enough that as I approached the counter, I could hear other customers, who were waiting on their drinks, trying to explain that I was on my way. I've had many conversations with people about my feelings towards the decline of customer service these days. My experiences with DD, specifically at this location, only reinforce those feelings.

I know the donuts are the stars however the people who make sure we receive those delicious donuts and fresh iced teas are the winners. I come here every morning for my large iced teas and croissant donut fix. Delvaughn or Anthony are usually on the register. I'm usually met with a smile and witty humor. Lucas is always friendly and keeping things in order and Kevin is a ball of fun also. These four really stand out and I love starting my day with them. Now to the donuts. There always fresh and if you come around certain parts of the year they have specialty donuts also. I need to slow down before I look like Santa!

How do I console myself for missing my Hot Yoga class... showed up ONE darn MINUTE late to 10:30am class only to find the door locked... BoooWaaaaHaaaa!!! Luckily I had my DDPerks to redeem down the street, YAY!! My pick me up treats -00- Enjoyed my free DD Vanilla latte & 2-for-1 donuts DDPerk -- not too bad of an alternative, hehe! And free wifi too to browse and yelp while enjoying my Friday morning treat. Guess the Universe has a way of making things work out, wink ^_^

Opted to skip my usual Starbucks' trip to experience a little "east coast sugar". Glad I did! Not only is the location super convenient but it's well lit, super clean and just like I remembered Dunkin' Donuts on the east coast. My favorite donuts are the vanilla cream and the chocolate glazed. Happily they still taste like they did when I was a kid!! There was plenty to pick from even midway through the day; it looks like they had just stocked the case. Everyone was smiling and even the manager was engaging. His engagement wasn't just with customers though it was also with employees. He made sure that all the new trainees were feeling right at home, that those who had been with him were still good on their feet, and everyone had an opportunity for a break. He came out and joked with them several times while I was in the restaurant. The employees all had smiles on their faces and really seem to be enjoying themselves. There certainly was plenty of staff and had both registers going long after the breakfast rush. If your knees toaster and you find yourself on user Boulevard in Santa Monica I definitely make a stop. If you're not from the East Coast and you're anywhere in the area, shame on you if you don't try it. You have no idea what you're missing!!

I've always liked Dunkin' Donuts. I buy the coffee for my coffeemaker and the smell of it rouses me in the morning. The hype around the chain has died down in the Southland, which makes it easier to grab a cup at this place. But it's just not the same. I still like the regular coffee. I don't like that they stash the creamers behind the counter and you can't determine how much you can put in. But I can forgive that. The workers are pretty nice, but they can't make a coffee coolatta for shit. Extra sugar does not equal extra deliciousness. It's a balancing act, man. I'm tearing up at the fact that I have to wait to leave the state in order to get a fucking decent DD frozen coffee beverage. Sigh. The donuts are pretty good, but nothing you can't find outside of the chain. If you're around and in the mood, sure. But SoCal DD just doesn't have that east coast feel. Sigh.
